ambulance

the first time i saw this band i fell utterly in love with them. even after not having seen them for eleven months I am still raving about them, walking up to complete strangers and saying, "have you heard of a band called ambulance?" etc. etc. i just wish they would play london more. they are becoming quite popular in these parts, finally people are latching on to what is essentially a good thing. they play in their home town of brighton (south of england, by the sea, oooh lovely!) on a fairly regular basis. i may be forced to travel down if they don’t come to my little capital soon...except i probably won’t. have you any idea how much a return to brighton costs?????? last time i checked it was £13.30 return yet £13.20 single. how weird is that?????? still mighty expensive. now that has nothing to do with ambulance, i must apologise……..

i’ll start properly. the first time i saw ambulance i fell utterly in love with them. they had a bit of a mouth drop period at the start of their set where the eyes widen and you find the words "wow" bouncing about your mouth. and i wasn’t the only one. darren took to the mike and here i feel compelled to state my philosophy that if you’re actually going to have a frontman he has to be a stunner. it doesn’t matter what he looks like physically just as long as he can carry off whatever he wants. and darren can. he is perhaps in the running for the title of perfect popstar...

yeah, yeah ,popstar, popstar but the music! the music! i had to repeat myself twice there, just to emphasise that little point. they are punk with a strain of glam cruising through. possibly their favourite word is "scum".it features about, oooh twenty times in "the bitch issue" (neat play on words there, boys and girls)

so let the introductions commence...
on vocals there is darren, wearer of cool shirts and excessive eyeliner
bass boy is the charming paul, nice high frets boy, nice high frets…..
on guitar let me introduce adam - i’m having a vision of blue trousers, perhaps...
wait up, a girl drummer .wow. i salute you catherine (bye bye to andy! so why did he go then???)
and last (heheheh) is everybody’s favourite, dan, on keyboards. if he’s still with them of course.
