My Franchises

Welcome Cardinals fans! As you all know the Cardinals aren't one of the best teams in the league, in fact they are among the bottom 10. Their stats are quite scrufty looking and the main thing you might want to do is make a key trade to get them moving. Trading David Boston could get you an all-star RB or QB, as for the WR position you could pick up a free agent for now and then draft a first round WR when draft day comes. Well, I dont know if I want to show these but here are the Cardinals stats in Madden:

Overall: 70
Offense: 74
Defense: 71
Special Teams: 84
QB: 78
RB: 74
WR: 77

Here's a hint on coaching the Cardinals:

You'll need to put points on the board, because your defense will find it difficult to stop the opposition, in large part because of a deficient pass rush. However, Starks is a fine cover corner, allowing you to shut down at least one side of the field. When you have the football keep the clock moving. This means running the football. (that brings us back to that trade, maybe you should trade for a good rb that can keep the ball on the field by consistently getting first downs)The air attack is the strength of Arizona, so utilize all your weapons. (WARNING: if you do end up trading Boston the air attack will no longer be as strong as it was) However, as good as Boston is, don't overuse him. Give Sanders the ball and keep Jones involved. This masks your inexperienced run attack. (that is if you don't make a trade for a better rb)

Key Players:

WR David Boston:

David Boston emerged in 2001 as one of the leagues best, displaying the speed to beat anyone in the secondary. Boston's breakout season included 98 receptions for an NFL high 1598 yards, 8 td's, and his first trip to the Pro-Bowl. He has blazing speed, but his best attribute is his ability to stop on the Dime. Out of Ohio State, Boston set the single season Buckeye record with 85 receptions in 1998.

FS Kwamie Lassiter:

Kwamie Lassiter is a fearless hitter, punishing those who dare go over the middle. Although listed as a free safety, he can play any position in the defensive backfield. Lassiter recorded career highs in 2001 with 9 int's and 100 tackles. Despite a willingness to sacrifice his body for the big hit, he has been a durable performer, having played in 94 consecutive games dating back to the '96 season.

Try these plays out:

Offense:

HB Belly Strong: this play is set to run to the inside but more often then not the outside will be wide open for Jones to break a long one.

I Form Twin WR-HB Lead Toss: the FB and 2 WR's all block for you on this outside run, slowly jog behind your FB then when you see the lane open slam on that speed burst button and pick yourself up a first down.

Singleback Twin TE-Safety Bait:This play has Boston, Sanders and Freddie Jones going out for passes. The safety's will pick up Boston and Sanders leaving Jones wide open for a 5 yard pass which can easily be turned into a 10 yard gain for the first.

Shotgun 4 WR-FL Fly:this play is exactly what it sounds like, a deep fly to Boston, hike the ball, drop back and watch it fly, now all you have to do is sit their and hope Boston catches it.

Defense:

4-3 Under Man:this play uses your best defensive players (your defensive backs) to stop the run game, this play holds its ground and doesnt let anyone by.

Nickel Double Slot:this play puts your secondary into double coverage, but beware your players will most likely get smoked so take control or the nearest defender and whap the ball away yourself

Well Cardinals fans thats all I got on the Cardinals until next year, I hope you liked my site and please visit often and tell your friends. Thanx and may your madden days be fun.OH and don't forget to sign my guestbook.
