ORGANIZED 1976 OPENED 2005

Station 8 opened in 1976 on Hwy 98. In 1998 Engine 8 moved into the new Station 3 along with Engine 3. Station 8's new station opened in June 2005. Engine 8's 1st due area is made up of mostly residential homes, commercial taxpayers, and some apartment complexes.
Included in Eight's 1st due area is the Grove Park subdivision and golf course. There first due area also includes schools, lakes and shopping centers. The largest housing development in Durham is being built in Engine 8's first due area.
