THE MAN IN BLACK

What made Dale Earnhardt such a great man? He was a great racer who made no excuses for racing.
He commanded respect and also gave respect where it was due. Let's remember the great times and fantastic memories he has given us!
He shall forever be alive in our hearts!

MEMORIAL FLOWERS

My 16 yr old daughter Pam and I have been long time Jeff Gordon fans. We are devastated! We would always be "looking in the rearview mirror" for Dale whenever we would watch Jeff in the lead. What a shock. He will missed by every NASCAR fan! His #3 should be retired forever! Unless Dale Jr. decides to drive it.

We loved you so much Dale. You felt like part of our family and you always will. Nascar will never be the same without you but it must go on in order to honor your memory. The Earnhardt family, friends, and the millions of fans will always be in my prayers and in my heart.
God Bless all,

Over the years, my family has followed NASCAR. The radio station in my home town of Galax Virginia, devotes their station to NASCAR every sunday after 12. Dale Earnhardt was a permanent fixture in my household for many many years.

His death yesterday was the equivalent of one of our family members. For us, it was close to the death of NASCAR altogether. It's amazing to me how we associate ourselves with someone and that person becomes a total icon for us. We live vicariously through them and cheer them on no matter what. We pay oulandish amounts of dollars just to identify ourselves through them. When they are taken from us, we feel lost.

Dale Earnhardt was our Michael Jordan. He was our Tiger Woods. He was our Mark McGuire. He was our hero.

We wish DEJr. all the success in the world, but unfortunately, he will not be able to fill the void left in our hearts with the passing of the Intimidator.....

I have spent many Sunday afternoos watching and hoping the Black #3 would cross the finish line first. Mr. Earnhardt has been my favorite driver for as long as I can remember. My deepest condolences go out to his family, friends and teammates. It is a tragedy that we all feel, even the non-Earnhardt fans are absolutly mortified. I hope that the family can move on with Dale in their hearts, and I give my best of luck to Mr. Earnhardt Jr. I will be pulling for him in all the races here on out.

I have grown up watching NASCAR races, it certainly will never be the same. Our hearts are heavy at this sad time. Prayers go out from my family to the Family of Dale Earnhardt.........Somehow, this still doesnt seem real.........A tremendous loss. Retire forever that black #3....... You will always and forever be remembered - The Man In Black - The Intimidator!!!!!!!!!!!! Win 'em all Dale, on the big race track in heaven.....(Where my dad will finally get to meet his favorite NASCAR driver!!!)
Sincerely, The Franks Family - Manahawkin, NJ

To be honest, I'm a "anything but Chevy" Fan. But I know when greatness is present and Dale Earnhart was the greatest. The drive to win and compete will never be matched again.

To watch him roll his car in the '97 Daytona 500, go to hospital, then get back in it to finish the race. UNBELIEVABLE!

And to top all of his racing glory, He was am amazing husband, father and friend.

Dale, I will truely miss you on Sunday.

Dale Earnhardt was the best nascar driver ever. He will always live in our hearts and souls. He will always be remembered as the wonderful family man and a devoted nascar driver. Dale, you will always be in our thoughts and we will NEVER forget you. You have given us many races that we enjoyed so much and looked forward to so dearly. We will continue to go to the races and carry on your legacy with your sons. May you rest in peace!
