THE BOY WHO RAN FASTER
Sheryl Handlin writes: When my children where small, they were playing hide-n-seek in the house. Shenae must have been about seven and Josh about five. Anyway, while they were playing this game, Josh ran into his bedroom and tore off all his clothes except his underware. Then he ran out of the bedroom. Shenae yelled out to him, "JOSH GET BACK IN THERE AND PUT YOUR CLOTHES ON BOY!", Josh yelled back,"NO IT MAKES ME RUN FASTER!" hehe!
SHE BECAME A MOTHER AT THE AGE OF TWO
Shenae was always a good sister. After having Joshua, Shenae came to the Hospital with her Dad. Rick took her to see the babies section so she could see her brother. However; Shenae thought she could pick out any baby. Shanae said,"Daddy I want that one!" Rick had to laugh. "You don't have a choice Shanae, see that little baby boy over there? He is your brother." Rick explained. Shenae told her daddy that one would be fine. When Josh and I came home from the hospital, Shenae would sit in a chair next to Josh's crib and just watch him sleep. When we had him lying on a blanket in the living room floor, she would get books and lay down beside him trying to show him the pictures as she read to him. When Josh took a nap Shenae took a nap; where Shenae went Josh went. She once told me,"Mom thank you for having a baby for me." I had to smile and tell her - Josh is my baby, but he is your brother.
THE HUSBAND WHO CARRIED THE LOAD WITHOUT COMPLAINING
Rick is my Husband his birth given name is Howard D. Handlin. There is a story behind his birth givin name and nickname. You will need to read the descendants in his family lineage to get the facts. I would also like to say, my husband is very dear to me. He is a very kind man, always looking for ways to help me, and taking on extra responsibilities when I start a new project like doing several family trees. There have been many nights I stayed up when I should have been in bed getting my rest. Mine and Rick's relationship has been a wonderful experience. Some moments were hard for me to understand and I am sure for him to understand as well. But all in all, we find that our relationship just keeps getting better. We have learned over the years to look in the mirror at our own reflections to see what we needed to improve. God has been the biggest part of our relationship. We have allowed God to show us the paths we must take in this life. We have been now married about 15 years and it just keeps getting better. Thank You Jesus!
THE DOG WHO LOOKS LIKE A CATThen there is my Cat who Thinks he is a Dog."Bubba" is his name. We named him Bubba because he plays fetch like a dog, carries sticks around in his mouth, eats about anything, even Kiwi, and he lets you knock him around like an old county boy rough playing. Bubba likes to run under the covers when we are making the bed. He likes to run along side the fence in the back yard just like dogs do. He also digs holes so he can climb under the fence,he even eats dog chewy bones. Who would of figured that a cat who looks like a cat would have the brain of a dog. This is our cat who thinks he is a dog and his name is Bubba.
