| A. Pre-Practicum During the pre-practicum phase, orientation on HUME 198 was given by faculty supervisor. There were also mini trainings and team building activities. The first mini training was headed by a representative from BIDANI. It was about knowing yourself and your team to work well in the community. The team building activity, on the other hand, was led by Mr. Danny Fernando. Through the activities, one has learned about himself and to be an effective member of a team.Before the actual field immersion, insurance, permits and waivers were accomplished. At the later part of the phase, the immersion team was able to meet the Barangay Chairman of Barangay II Poblacion in Alaminos, Laguna. The arrangements for the two-month practicum were finalized. B. Practicum Phase During this phase, the team was guided by the objectives and principles of the HUME 198 in planning and implementing activities. Moreover, the Barangay Integrated Development Plan (BIDP) was used as basis for the formulation of programs. In addition, meeting with the Sangguniang Barangay provided information on existing barangay projects and needs. The immersion team made a courtesy call to the municipal mayor, Hon. Samuel F. Bueser, and which helped the team gain assistance and support for future projects in the barangay. Also, coordination with Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office and Municipal Agricultural Office was done. Other cooperating agencies were tapped in pursuing some activities. The activities planned and implemented were intended for the family. In respect with our major, we applied an across the lifespan approach. Our target clientele were children, youth, adults, and the community as a whole. Every week, a report was submitted for evaluation purposes. All these activities were presented during the courtesy exit participated by the members of the Sangguniang Barangay. An exhibit was put up in the barangay showing the highlights of the practicum. Furthermore, a draft of the final team report was accomplished. C. Post Practicum The preparation for the Post Practicum Assessment Conference was done by the team. During the oral presentation, the team expounded the programs implemented in the barangay. In the presence of the faculty, and the members of the Sangguniang Barangay, the Post Practicum Assessment Conference was an achievement for the team . The immersion team also took the chance to give recognition of the outstanding participation of the Barangay Officials. In addition, an exhibit was also put up at the Department of HFDS .In completion of the requirements, the practicum manuscript was done . |
