Suitable for a Chihuahua or other tiny dog. This will fit a dog weighing between 3 to 6 pounds. I've already made this one for Rey, who loves it. Actually, I made 2 but gave one to my dad for his tiny toy poodle. I did make a couple of small changes/improvements to the second one by making a couple of strategically placed holes so that I can hook his leash onto his collar or halter while he has the sweater on. *S*
Pattern available in Microsoft Word .doc file for downloading. The size of the sweater pattern is for a dog approximately 25 pounds which would include breeds such as Schnauzers, Cocker Spaniels, etc. If you would like to make a sweater for a larger or smaller dog, see “Adjust the Pattern” at the end of the page.

This pattern uses "3 measurements here, the length of the dog's back (from the collar to an inch before the tail), the space between your dog's front legs (under side) and across the dog's back from the top of 1 front leg to the top of the other (we'll call this width)."

Free sewing pattern from FreePetProjects.com - registration required for viewing/downloading the free pet projects but it's FREE. "Your dog will be the best-dressed pooch on the block in this fleece coat." Materials needed: ½ yard fleece hook and loop fasteners
This pattern was made for a Corgi who's about 26 lbs. Size can be adjusted for your dog, just measure carefully. It requires 1/3 yard of fleece )or more depending on the size of your dog), small amount of "fuzzy" yarn in coordinating color (or yarn of your choice), size G crochet hook, and tool for punching holes in fleece (the designer used an ice pick).
The pattern can be scaled to fit your dog and fleece is stretchy but the tube-type construction of this sweater makes it hard to put on and take off of large dogs. This pattern is more suited to medium-sized and smaller dogs.
