Fiji

During my time spent in Australia, I had the opportunity to take a week's vacation with one of my housemates. We chose Fiji as our destination, a small island east of Australia. Known for it's resorts, sun and friendly residents, it was the perfect place to vacation, relax and get a tan.


The Bula Bus. This was our primary means of transportation between different resorts. 'Bula' is the common greeting among Fijians and whenever you passed an employee at the resort, you would receive a friendly, 'Bula!'.	A beautiful Fijian sunset over the water.	One of many humourous statues that were scattered inside and out our resort.

A daily event where cultural dancers would bid farewell to the sun, and light the torches that would burn all night.	A small Fijian church we attended. When we asked about churches at our resort, the lady there invited us to her church. It was amazing to experience fellowship in the Fijian church; complete with a hearty welcome, refreshments following the service and a ride back to our resort!	Relaxing on the beach. Behind the wheel of a cruise ship that we ventured on one day. Unfortunately, they didn't really let me drive!	A picture of me in the famous 'Garden of the Gods'. One of the most well-known natural beauties of Fiji and when the gardens are in full bloom, it's a wonder to behold.	Room 374, our home for our week in Fiji. It was also the location where we discovered a little lizard who snuck in! After much time spent cowering on top of our beds, a hotel assistant finally came to our room, smiling and laughing at our silliness, and assured us that the lizard had departed!
