Professional Experience:
Ricky runs a function band called ‘LadyRock!’. They have been preforming for past the three years and still going strong, performing almost every week.
He also teaches music part time in IMSA (Instrumental Music Sound Academy) in Bridgend, teaching all ages and all styles of music on keyboard.
Being fortunate enough to work at three Download Festivals (2010, 2011 and 2012), gracing them with his presents as an information steward; this has given him extra skills and knowledge of how the music industry works.
Ricky has taken part in local musicals such as 'Footloose the musical' (performing on keyboard two, harmonica, co-musical director), 'Cinderella' (performing on keyboard one and two, co-musical director) and finally 'A Chorus Line' ( performing as keyboard two). Working together as an ensemble, learning theatre discipline and respect, were the main attributes Ricky discovered and has constantly progressed them ever since.
One of his major achievements as a creative musician was to not only write a rock opera, but to start in the show as well, called 'The Great Divide'. The show took seven months to put together including writing the script and music, recording of 'The Great Divide' album and of additional video clips for advertising purposes. I co-wrote a high percentage of the set and script and wrote the music for two dominant tracks in the show called 'The Reunion' and 'Mr Happy' and also When his two yea s came to a close at Bridgend College, He was awarded with student of the year 2009/2010, presented to him by Lee Jukes (local radio presenter - Bridge FM).
Qualifications in Music:
Ricky is currently studying to finish his BA Hons in Popular Music at Glamorgan University, 'The Atrium' in Cardiff. He also has a lot of other qualifications under his belt, that are listed below:
- Foundation Degree in Popular Music.
- BTEC National Dipolma in Music Practise - Triple Distinction (3 A's at A-Level)
- BTEC National Dipolma in Music Practice - Distinction (A at A-Level)
- Grade 5 Music Theory - ABRSM (Associated Board of the Royal School of Music).
