Barbara Burgess-Lefebvre has written and directed over 100 murder mysteries in New York and now brings this unique and interactive show style to the Pittsburgh area.

Murder for Hire employs a stable of wonderfully talented improvisational actors. Actors remain in character throughout the performances, and entertain your guests by creating dynamic and extremely funny characters.

Each production is an original script written especially for your event. This script and performance can be adapted for your event or location.

     Previous scenarios have included:

  • Weddings
  • Back-stage parties
  • TV game shows
  • Graduation dinners
  • Westerns
  • Family reunions
  • 1950's high school dance
  • and many more...

Murder for Hire brings six to eight actors to your establishment. The cast mingles with your guest from 45-60 minutes, introducing themselves, mingling with guests, and establishing motive and opportunity.

The murder occurs or is announced.

The cast presents a 30-45 minute scripted play that reveals further clues and more information. At the conclusion the company opens the floor for questions and interrogation from the audience.

The company takes a break while the audience fills out ballots deducing the who and why. (A winning ballot may be drawn later for a door prize if you wish)

The cast returns for a 10-15 minute wrap-up and reveals the murderer!

This scheduled may be altered to accommodate your specific timetable or event (mysteries have even been written for weekend-long events.)

Murder for Hire provides:

  • an original script written specifically for your event and location.
  • six to eight experienced improvisational actors.
  • all necessary costumes and properties for the mystery.
  • a detailed playbill introducing the scenario and characters
  • advertising for the event in the form of graphic design that can be utilized for posters, print-media advertisements, table tents, etc.
