PEARRRLLLL JAMMMMMM!!!!!!!
SEPTEMBER 18TH...PEARL JAM AT MERRIWEATHER WAS THE ABSOLUTE BEST CONCERT I'VE EVER BEEN TO
Wanna hear a little story about my concert?...well you don't have a choice really
Anyway, I get home from school at 2:20 and get all my crap together..(I bring
my guitar but I never play it there) After that I go and pick up my friend
Todd from his house and we are off to Merriweather. We get there at about 3:00
and we are first in line only about 20 other people there (the gates open at 6:30)
Me and Todd sit there for about 30 min until our friend Pat comes...Now Pat you see,
Is the biggest Pearl Jam fan I know. He does nothing but talk in "Vedderese"
all day long. Then after we decide that we dont need to stake our claim in the
line just yet we go to Subway and get some "dinner" Pat hooks us up with
discounts cuz he works there. After we eat we start back. Okay lets cut to the chase.
As the gates are opened we burst through and get our seats right up in
the front of the lawn area, prime territory. We chill out for a bit until
Ben Harper (the opening band) comes on...He was pretty damn good..he had sort of a
rockin' reggae like jazzy and modern rock sound. Then Eddie came out...and it was
like this...
It was complete pandemonium, everyone was jumpin around like mad and
yellin and screamin for their first song "Hail,Hail" I was groovin to
Stone Gossards madd beats like a pro. I kept catching this one girl looking
over at me systematically. And she was a HOTTIE. Very petite, shapely...
but not too much (which is good)
Nott only that,
SHE LIKED PEARL JAM!!!!!
Well Im a kind of slow
flirter with unfamilaiar girls so it took me a while. Through slow melodies
and adrenaline pumping rock outs, I slowly made my way towards her.
Speaking of adrenaline, During one of the last kick ass, crunchin songs...I
blindly flailed myself around in a mosh pit...I mean I'm small but with
that natural drug pumpin through me I was strong, durable, partly unconsciouss
and exited. I showed everyone what I could do.
Getting back to the girl, It was nearing the end when I was flirtin
with her. and it was cool because it seemed like she liked me too. She was grabbing
at my arms to hold her hand, and giving me sweet smiles, and dancin with me(sort of).
When on the last encore they finally played "Yellow Ledbetter"..I broke down.
It was soo fuckin cool and we were both waiting impatiently for it.
Swaying to the last reverberations of the song and the echo of Todd's disatrous
nagging about going further with the girl, I watched her slip out of my grasp
and gone forever... I didn't even get her number, most likely because I'm
a slow idiot and she might have been annoyed with Todd...Either way
It was an awesome concert, I temporarily had an awesome girl, and....
My feet hurt from dancin and jumpin up and down...That was random but
so am I...Hope you liked my story..see ya next time.
