behavior of internet users can change by anonymity influences. Most internet users will become very bold and daring once they mask their real identities with virtual online identities. This will sometimes result in negative consequences like: 1. Hacking and the planting of malicious codes onto others, resulting in a widespread of viruses unleashed. Once these users have done so, they can still conttnue to change their identities online without allowing other victimised users know their real identities. 2. Users can spread lies, malicious gossips, and rumours to others. However, there are also positive consequences like: 1. Users can chat with other users online freely, especially when they have difficulties or problems with their personal lives. (due to the fact that they are masked) Positive consequences as such will be less of the norm, when users are influenced by anonymity. |
