Kay Bundo Memorial Page

This is a special page for Kay Bundo, a wonderful Kinder Surprise collector from Dunedin who was known to many in the Kinder community, and who sadly passed away on 3 September 2008. I would like to take this opportunity to extend my personal sympathies and condolences to all Kay’s family and friends.
To begin with, I shall write my own little tribute to Kay, but I would also like to invite others who have traded with her over the years to share their own memories of her. I will then publish those memories on this page (that is, if you want me to). Just e-mail me if you would like to do that. OK, here now is my obituary, as it were, for Kay:
I can’t remember when I first heard from Kay, but it would probably have been in the early 2000s. For the most part, she wrote to me by hand, but later she sometimes e-mailed me with the help of her son-in-law Gordon. I do remember that Kay was a very generous lady, often sending me things out of the blue, and always accompanied by a letter. In these letters, she would naturally talk about Kinder Surprise toys, but also about sports. Indeed, she often amazed me by writing about how she would stay up through the night to watch the All Blacks or Black Caps when they were playing overseas!
All in all, I feel that knowing Kay Bundo enriched not only my Kinder Surprise collection, but my life in general, and I am sure that the same is true for others who came into contact with her. As I said in the previous paragraph, she was generous, but also kind and thoughtful. It sounds a little clichéd to say it, but she really will be sadly missed.
So those are some of my thoughts on Kay Bundo. Any memories of her that I receive from others will be printed below and will hopefully serve as a lasting and fitting tribute to her.
