Sunday Night Heat
January 16, 2000
Commentators: Kevin Kelly and Michael Cole

First we got the WWF and Heat opening titles followed by a wonderful fireworks display and Michael Cole welcoming us to Heat. He talks about Cactus Jack and the Rock and Big Show having heat.

Kurt Angle d. Christian via Reverse Fireman's Carry (anyone caught a name on that yet?)
Angle comes down and Christian comes through the fans through the section right next to the stage again and the cameras can't find him. Angle talks about being undefeated to an asshole chant. Says everyone is gunning for him. Tells Christian this has got to be one the biggest nights of his life because ending an Olympians unbeaten streak is big. Both go for their finishers early, but neither are successful. Lots of technical wrestling moves. Angle keeps Christian on the mat. Angle walks away, but Christian chases him down. Blackman's out and attacks Christian. Edge attacks Blackman. Christian hits impaler (Tamikaze), but ref is
distracted. Angle gets up and hits the finisher.

Still to come...metamorphosis of Mankind to Cactus Jack...D'Lo vs Buh-Buh Ray later

Posse backstage sick of Kae-in-tai screwing them and not getting a win. They plan to take out Kae-in-tai before they get to the ring.

Slam of the Week
Mankind Pedigree through the announce table

Jeff Hardy w/Matt and Terri d. Prince Albert via Nightstick to the head
Terrible math. Missed spot with the sky twisting press. Albert didn't know what he was doing. Hardy starts with an air attack. Another missed spot on a sunset flip that Jeff recovered from and completed the move. Power moves from Prince Albert with a Gorilla Press and butterfly suplex as well as a HUGE powerbomb. Terri on the apron and Bossman comes down. Bossman
throws the stick over Albert and Jeff uses it for the win. Thankfully, this match looked better on TV than I remember it from the arena. Creative editing.

Posse looking Kae-in-tai backstage and find Rikishi coming out the John. They attack Rikishi and Rikishi fights them off and has a mean look in his eye.......

**Commericial** (commercial for Supernova. Great Flick. I know one of the digital compositing supervisors on the movie and they did a great job.)

Promo for "Worlds's Deadliest Sea Creatures" next on USA (what a joke)

Plays of the Week" rolls to 50 Cent "Ya Life's on the Line"

**Commercial**(Slim Jim commercial with Savage. Foreshadowing??)

D'Lo d. Buh-Buh Ray w/D-Von via SkyHigh
D'Lo is home in Chicago and gets a good pop. Tazz promo on the Tron. Still with that Number 13 hasn't changed since Thursday and the commentators aren't making a big deal about the 13. Reader TAZxtreme tells me it's part of his FTW gear, but I got my own opinions. Notice the 13 Check out LOP's poll on it here
D'Lo in control early but gets thrown outside where D-Von double teams. D'Lo regains control and gets back in the ring. I love how the Dudley's sell crossbody's. Couple near pinfalls for both guys. D'Lo gets control and drops the leg. Buh-Buh kicks out. D'Lo gets a powerbombed reversed then gets sat on. Buh-Buh slams D'Lo then they go for D-von's headbutt. Chad Patton
stops it and sends D-Von to the back. D'Lo gets up, but Buh-Buh hit at Samoan Drop then goes for a splash and D'Lo moves. D'Lo hits the SkyHigh and gets the victory.

Rikishi and Too Cool back stage. Rikishi wants to know if Too Cool has his back. Says the Posse made fun of him and his ass and the Posse will feel Rikishi's ass tonight.

Mankind becomes Cactus Jack from Smackdown!

Rumble promo shown

Tori shown backstage getting coffee. Kae-in-tai come to get coffee speaking Japaneese. Tori thinks they are talking nasty about her. Tori tells them to wait.

Hardcore Holly interview
Says he beat both Jericho and Chyna in the middle of the ring and by all rights, he should be the Intecontinental champion and he wants to be the IC champ. He calls out Chyna and Jericho saying he made the challenger earlier and he don't care who accepts the challenge. Chyna's music hits and Chyna and The Kat come down. Chyna accepts the challenge. Jericho's music
hits. Jericho admits Chyna is one tough sister, but he won't take the chance of her screwing it up and Jericho says he's take the shot at Rumble and Chyna says NO. Holly says they both can't accept. Then says how bout a 3-way dance for the undisputed champ (Good Idea, Bob!) Both Jericho an Chyna accept. Holly interrupts Jericho and says makes fun of his catchphrase eeeever.

After they go to break. Jericho stays on the ramp as Holly walks up. Jericho says if you gonna do it, do it right and does his own version of eeeever. Legit heat for the interruption maybe.

Rikishi/Too Cool d. The Posse via Bonzai Drop
It was supposed to be against Kae-in-tai, but Kane took care of Taka and Funaki backstage. The Posse thinks they've won, but Too Cool's music hits. Grandmaster Sexay and Scotty Too Hotty attack the Posse outside while Rikishi waits in the ring. Huge kick to the face of Pete Gas then a butt splash in the corner. Bell-to-belly suplex then gets Joey Abs in the ring and hits
the sit down piledriver. Rodey gets in and Too Cool takes care of him while Rikishi waits in the corner. They drag him to the corner and Rikishi hits the drop. He rubs his backside on Rodney's chest then they all dance and have a good time. It almost looks like a Backstreet Boys Concert :-)
