Infinitive small point

why does it shrink to an infinitely small point? It is because its gravity is so strong that not even the star itself can resist itself from collapsing and it will continue to collapse because its gravity is growing stronger as the star gets smaller.

black hole, a possible final state of a star, when its mass, and hence its gravitational pull, is so large that the star undergoes catastrophic gravitational collapse inwards, completely overwhelming the stabilizing forces within it. The matter becomes more and more compressed during this process which ultimately results in an object of zero size and infinite density.
