OHA Girl Scout Troop 150
The Ocilla Housing Authority Girl
Scout Troop began in March 2004.
Girl Scouts of the USA is the
world's largest organization
dedicated to helping all girls
everywhere build character and
gain skills for success in the real
world. In an accepting and
nurturing environment, and in
partnership with committed adult
volunteers, girls develop strong
values, leadership skills, social
conscience, and conviction about
their own potential and self-worth
that will serve them all their lives.
Troop 150 have been attending
meetings regularly, performing a
variety of community services,
participating in group trips and
learning new skills.
Ocilla Housing Authority
The purpose of the youth program is to provide a safe, engaging
environment that motivates and inspires learning outside the regular
school day. We are in the process of implementing an after school
program, cultural enrichment activities, and recreational activities
such as football, baseball and soccer. There is also a Boy Scouts
and Girl Scout program.
Our state of the art computer lab, located at Sherwood Court's
community center, is equipped with twelve computers. This is
another component beign utilized to help residnets become
self-sufficient. While visiting the facility residents are assisted
in searches via the internet. During the upcoming year, the
lab will be used for the after school tutorial program.
Maintenance services are responsible for the maintenance of
all 165 dwelling units and grounds. They continue to receive
high marks for their service delivery. During the year they
completed approximately 3,000 work orders.
