Cincinnati Rocks!

Despite all the bad publicity from my alter ego, Cincinnati has a LOT of redeeming qualities. These are but a few.

Its NOT Chicago ...
If you like sitting in bumper to bumper traffic for hours and hours, and paying 40 cents every 5 miles, Chicago is the place to be. It even makes I-75 seem bearable.

Thai Cafe. This place makes some excellent Thai food! If you like it hot, this is the place for you. Pad Thai Chicken 10. That's all you need to say. Well, other than WATER! PLEASE!

Price Hill Chili. For a really fattening lunch, this is the place to go. Try the "Landmark", a huge sandwich with bacon, mayo, salisbury steak, and onions, for under $5! Avoid the greek fries, though. Go home, whip up some fries, and dump a bunch of sage, salt, and garlic on them.

Burrito Joe's. A big damn burrito, stuffed with lettuce, salsa, guacamole, sour cream, cheese, and chicken. A wide variety of hot sauces, served up for under $5.

Jungle Jim's You've just got to go there once, at least once. An unusual international grocery market ... I don't quite know how to describe it. A cross between a farmer's market and traveling Disney display. Their selection of exotic foods is awesome. Frequented by the better chefs in Cincinnati, if they don't have it, it doesn't exist. Top it off with a 7 foot bear singing Elvis tunes and a planned monorail around the lot. Like I said, unusual.

Running There are races a plenty in the city! Home of the Flying Pig Marathon, Kicks for Kids Twilight Run, Heart Association mini-marathon, Race for the Cure ... The list goes on and on. There are plenty of opportunities to run 5k, 10k, or full marathons in the area, Always a good time, always a party. They do know how to put on a race here.

Parks The park system is robust, with a number of fine parks to jog, walk, hike, or laze around in. Winton Woods, Sharon Woods, Whitewater, Little Miami just to name a few. Its great to get away from the smog alerts with a little jaunt through a park. Never mind the dog poop left by ... oh wait ... this is the page of Good things about Cincinnati. I'll have to pass that one along to my alter ego.

Union Terminal A beautiful building, great example of Art Deco architecture, and a nice Omnimax theater. The museums are worth browsing, although with a little higher budget they'd be REALLY worth browsing. All in all, its a nice place to visit.

Tennis The ATP tournament facilities bring world class tennis to Cincinnati.

Rennaisance Festival I love to wander around a field full of loonies dressed in period costume. This is just a great time! Grab a giant turkey leg, eat like a pig, shop at all the little weirdo shops ... some really neat stuff! Where else can you spend $5000 on a head board carved from a giant redwood, or buy a leather goblet?

King's Island Fun fun fun! Face off to the Outer Limits, where the Vortex meets the Beast near the Drop Zone.

Reds They're winning, aren't they? A great baseball tradition in this town. So, why isn't Pete in the Hall of Fame? Probably the Republicans.
