About Makeup and your face

Makeup is a difficult art to master...it takes practice, practice practice!    We all seem to start off like little girls with our makeup heavily done and imprecise. We refine with practice just like an adolescent and young lady. Since most of us don't get to dress en fem everyday, we also don't get to practice our makeup everyday as would any young woman.

Consequently, many of us do not refine our techniques until we are 30, 40 or even 50 years old.   But take heart ladies, there are some GG's out there who NEVER get it right. I am sure you've seen some almost painful evidence of this out in the world!

If you are just starting to refine your makeup look perhaps I can save you a little time, agony (and money!).  If you already have advanced skills, perhaps you will pick up few new tricks! I have learned much over the years much of it through trial and error.  It was only much later that I summoned up the courage to actually take courses in makeup art at a beauty college in Berkeley, CA that I really refined my own skills.  Those courses paid for themselves in years of trial and error.

I have organized this section according to the each area of the face. You can click on a section to the left to find your way around. I have included many ideas and tips and specific directions where possible. Some of these are my own ideas from experimentation, some come from the training I received and some I borrowed from other sisters. All are assembled with the M2F T*Girl in mind but may also be applicable to learning GG's!

The topics are ordered according to the way I put my face on in the morning (or evening). I have learned there is a logical sequence to makeup application. Working in right order can save you time especially when you have to correct a mistake!

If you see any glaring mistakes or think some of my ideas are not quite right, PLEASE drop me a line! I am very open to other or new ideas. It is my goal to make the best site possible and to be of help to our community.

Lastly, most of this site is slanted to the M2F T*Girl who wants to become more "passable". Some of you are into a more, shall we say, "outrageous" or "Drag Queen" look (which is also fine with me!).  I am hoping some of what is presented here can still be of use to you in developing or enhancing your own special look.
