Comments: As a child, Mr. Ed was one of my favorite toys. He went everywhere with me. As I grew older and no longer needed my furry friend and companion, he was left alone in his stable or otherwise known as my pink toy box. I came home from school one day to find that my mom had cleaned out all of our toy boxes and set them all out for a garage sale. I can still remember someone buying Mr. Ed. To this day my heart and tummy ache when I think about that moment. Does anyone know if they have ever or will ever make a remake of Mr. Ed. I would love it if they did! Thank you Mr. Ed for the great years of fun. Terri Marquiss terri@saratoga-springs.com :-)

Comments: I am an advid horse lover, and perhaps was one once. Don't forget there are horses in herds who are storytellers. And herds do enjoy a good story. The poetry I write and the music my musical group performs, often includes horses--I write the words. Thanks to all, who admire horses as I do!

Comments: Hey! I love your web sight so much! I found it by looking for Mr. Ed and I found not only Mr. Ed but others as well! I love all of these horses and I appreciate you making a page for all of the wonderful equine actors out there! I would like to see one other horse on here though, and that is Daredevil from the new Sleepy Hollow. I have searched high and low to find pictures, information or anything about him and I couldn't. He is a gorgeous horse, I don't know if you saw the movie or not, but he sure deserves to be here with the other stars, well, he's not as high class as Trigger or Mr. Ed, but you know what I mean. Again, very nice page!

Comments: This is a great site and it's great to see someone so dedicated to preserving the history of these truely great equines and the men and women who did all the behind the scenes work to make the actors look good. Although Hollywood can do great things with special effects, always remember, the horses didn't know they were just acting, when a stage was running away or the horses were in the middle of a stamped, they weren't acting, that was real life and the horses handled the job like pros. Hats off to the real heros, the horses, wranglers and trainers!

Comments: My grandfather's clydesdale horse was sold to Budweiser in America and it was exported I think in the sixties. I would be interested to find out if the blood line still exists and any information you could find out about this. My grandfather's name was Lance Twaddle and he resided at Carbarns Farm, Netherton, Wishaw which is situated in the Clyde Valley. His horse won the Royal Highland Show as Best Clydesdale.

Comments: My grandfacther was Clarence Young 'Fat" Jones. He owned a movie horse stable in North Hollywood from the early 30's until his death in 1962 or 63. The stable, Fat Jones Stables, was sold at his death and continued to exist til some point in the early-mid '70s. It was located on Sherman Way, a short distance east of Lankershim Blvd. The location is now a series of low corregated storage bldgs. My aunt, my mothers sister, was married to the late movie actor Ben Johnson, and lived at the Sherman Way house until after Fat's death. The point of all this is that I wish to contact anyone who has first hand knowledge of those times and some of the people from Fat's barn. I have long since lost all contact and would like to reach out for some contact and dialog to clear up many of my lingering questions. Anyone that can help, please email me at the attached address. Thx!!!

Comments: These are all wonderful memories of Fury, but does everyone know that later in life he was abandoned, and abused, and treated much worse than most ordinary horses? When Ralph and Toni Helfer bought him in the late 60's or early 70's it was to save a poor old horse from abuse and neglect, they didn't even know who he was until much later. During these last few years of his life he was treated like the king he was, and his name was even "King". He was allowed to die with dignity, respect and above all, love.

Comments: Thanks for the web page and especially the Theme Song. I grew up watching Mr Ed. I was singing the song in the car one day and my 11 yr old son thought I made it up. He also thought I was nuts. Thank you for helping me prove my sanity at least on this issue. He wants to write down the words of the song since some other kid in his class somewhat knows the song. Too bad the second verse is not there though. Something like "people go yakity yak and waste your time of day, but Mr Ed will never speak unless he has something to say." Anyone out there know exact words? Please e-mail so my son gets the whole thing. Thanks

Comments: I really liked the web-site. I would also like to see more information on the horse that Tom Burlinson rode in the Man from Snowy River I and II. Also the Friesan in the movie LadyHawk, the Buckskin in Dances with Wolves, and horses ridden by John Wayne and Clint Eastwood.

Comments: In approximately 1990, I went to a film festival in Memphis, Tennessee. Among the celebrity attendees were James Brown and "Lee Aaker" from the television series, Rin Tin Tin I told "Lee Aaker" that I saw him in a parade in Little Rock in the 1950's. His response was, "Oh, didja?" I assumed that he would not recall one particular parade but I expected a little more of a response. It was the afternoon of the last day of the festival and he volunteered that he looked forward to going home and drinking beer and "picking up chics". I was vaguely disappointed by the lack of connection between a boyhood idol and his in-person manner. Several years later, I saw the real Lee Aaker on a television talk show. He appeared to expose the impersonator, whom I had met in Memphis, apparently. This left the nagging questinn as to whether Mr. Brown knew that the man with whom he appeared was not the real Lee Aaker..I iimagine that it is possible that Mr. Brown may not have seen Mr. Aaker for so many years before resuming public appearances with him that he may not have realized it was a different person.

Comments: What a wonderful site to look at. My husband and I are members of a Horse sanctuary here in Penn. that rescues old, abused, neglected and rescued from the slaugther house. We are city slickers and have learned alot about horses since we were members. But Mr. Ed I remember watching all the time when I was little. It really made me laugh. We use to have a horse down at the sanctuary named Captain that looked just like Mr. Ed and several people had said that as well. Anyway I just love this site and hope to visit this off and on. Keep up the great work, the photos are beatiful. Makes me feel like a kid again. I will be 50 in May, so this takes me back to some great years as a child in Maryland! God Bless all!

I cannot find any pictures at all on any site that shows the beautiful markings of this paint. You do have a wonderful site and it is very user friendly. Have a wonderful day. Barb Uhley

Comments: Am I the only one who thinks that Ed is due to be revived? This show was years ahead of his time, when you think of the recent surge of computer enhanced talking animals (babe the pig for example). Maybe the themes of the show are too backwater to be viable in today's market. Actually, I'd settle for some late night Ed reruns on cable access if I could get it... *sigh*

Comments: Mary, Your web site on Clayton Moore, and The Lone Ranger series is so very well done, and packed full of information on those "yesteryears". We horse people love to visit sites that are so much in common with our interests. We will all miss Clayton Moore. He, through his portrayal of honesty and decency, did so much for our age during our growing up years. We would be honored if you would visit our site to see our horses too. Many thanks from Cedar Hill Farms.
