Rules and Regulations for Austintown 4th of July Parade

  1. Entrance application must be received by June 1.

  2. All vehicles must be in good running order with full tank of fuel, good cooling system, and must adhere to the normal height and weight restrictions for highways.

  3. All vehicles entered must be insured. Drivers must be able to present proof of insurance if asked.

  4. All entries (including automobiles and commercial vehicles) must be decorated.

  5. Political entries must pay $50.00 entrance fee per car/unit.

  6. Throwing of candy, gum, cups, or other objects from vehicles is prohibited.

  7. Use of water guns, water balloons, or any such device used to spray onlookers will not be tolerated and will result in removal from parade.

  8. All units must proceed in a constant forward motion with no stopping along the parade route!

    - Participants must be aware that stopping or slowing down to perform along the parade route seriously affects the spacing and consistency of the parade.

    - The distance between parade units will be approximately 50' unless otherwise advised.

    - Due to safety concerns, jumping on and off or getting in and out of vehicles is not allowed.

  9. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted along parade route or in vehicles.

  10. Awards will be presented to entrants based on categories determined by the chairman of the Austintown 4th of July Parade.

    - Participants wishing to have their entries judged must indicate desired award category on the parade application. Such entries will be notified of their arrival time and judging location prior to July 4.

  11. All entries must arrive at parade staging lot and check in with parade officials promptly at given arrival time. Entries will be notified of arrival time and staging lot prior to July 4.

    - Participants (or a representative thereof) may be required to attend an informational meeting 1-2 weeks prior to July 4. Participants will be notified of the date, time, and location of the meeting upon receiving their position announcement card.

    - In order to limit unnecessary traffic in the staging lots, participants are encouraged to meet at an offsite location prior to arriving with their unit for check-in.
