Final Fantasy X

Introduction/Review By Vegepunk

WARNING: There are big spoilers in the introduction. If you would like to wait until you buy the game, then do not read the intro.

The story is about a young man named Tidus. Like the other Final Fantasies, this game goes deep into religion. But this game goes really deep. Another big thing in the story (bigger at the beginning) is "Blitzball," a sport kinda like underwater soccer mixed with football. Later Tidus gets transported to the future and another planet somehow, and meets Wakka, who really likes Blitzball. They meet the Summoner, Yuna, who summons "aeons" that are monsters. Wakka has really strong beleifs about Yevon, who is obviously their lord. A monster called "Sin" comes to the earth and is the peoples' punishement for being disobedient. Sin has been destroyed before, but it keeps coming back. The only thing that can destroy Sin is a summoner, and the summoner is Yuna. Everyone depends on Yuna, and Yuna depends on her gaurdians to protect her.

The game looks very great. Since this is the first PS2 release for FF, there are a lot of changes. There are barely any cut-scenes needed. The characters actually have voices that speak and there lips move to the words. Too many objects can cause frame delays, though and then the lips might not move to the voice at the right speed. They have so many voice tracks. Sometimes it makes you wonder how they fit all that in there. Well, it's just showing the true power of the Playstation 2. They have real face expressions, dialogue with sound, new battle system, all new to Final Fantasy. The new battle system lets you summon aeons, use overdrives, and a comepletely new one. You can have all of your party members be in one battle. So get ready. Final Fantasy X is exactly what Playstation 2 was made for.
