-RoadMap

-Verse I

Somethings are black and white, but often seem so grey,

I can't approach this world with childlike faith,

So I'm asking you Lord to show me a sign,

Cause I can't see with these scales on my eyes.

-Chorus

Don't let your eyes grow dim, don't let the blood run cold,

Just turn your eyes to him and he'll show you the way home...

-Verse II

I don't need a vision for my faith to begin,

I just need to have a childs eyes again,

The road to Recovery has to begin with me

Cause I know you'll open my eyes so I can see

-Chorus

Don't let your eyes grow dim, don't let the blood run cold,

Just turn your eyes to him and he'll show you the way home...

-Bass Solo

-Bridge

Give me a child's eyes, give me a child's eyes...

Maybe the answer isnt so vauge,

Maybe I've known the way all along,

That His grace covers me,

and His love is oh so strong.

-Solo

-Chorus

Don't let your eyes grow dim, don't let the blood run cold,

Just turn your eyes to him and he'll show you the way home...

Lyrics- Hazelton/Wright

RoadMap was our first true blue effort at a "real" song as a band. The music's creation was based on one of Dave's projects on the acoustic guitar. The song remained unstructured for quite some time. The song was eventually structured through a collaboration of Dave, Steve-O, Jeremy and Mike. A 12 String Guitar is used for most of RoadMap along with standard Bass and Drums. Steve-O was forced to have a Bass solo in the Bridge. He still protests his solo to this very day. Then toward the end Dave switches from the 12 String to the Stratocaster mid-song, for the seemly never ending outro solo.

Lyrics came primarily through Jeremy and Dave's random writings and poetry. (In other words making the best of classtime). Jeremy at one point forgot the last verse at a show and improvised his own lyrics on the spot. The Lyrics haven't changed since then. This unique song definately united the band and will forever be one of our favorites to perform.

Scotty's Song which was originally titled "Why?" had its beginning as a poem written by Trena Deminno. Trena's Poem was about her cousin committing suicide and the feelings and emotions that came after. Jeremy suggested that the poem be put to music. Dave had a piece that was loosely base off of a Pink Floyd song. The poem and the music flowed perfect and thus completed itself.

Scotty's Song was recorded at John Welsh's Recording Studio April 2001. The original recording was a acoustic piece, but the music has changed since the original recording. The lyrics were also rewritten by Jeremy, while staying true to nature of the poem. We felt the music needed to be more angry, according the to style of the lyrics. Especially for the emotion in the song.

Not to mention the original acoustic number was claimed by several to sound like John Denver. So in this case, Change is good. =]

-Scotty's Song

-Verse 1

I stand here shaken, ashamed and confused

Speachless, shocked, broken and abused

You were right here, only yesterday,

Now when I look for you, you've gone away.

-Verse 2

So like a droplet in a cloud,

I'm just a tearful face in a restless crowd,

I can remember getting lost in your eyes,

Now your gone and I'm stuck paralyzed

-Bridge

Love is supposed to protect us,

but not when it's infectous,

Permanent solutions, to temporary problems.

-Verse 3

I lie here awake, alone with my confusion,

Drowning myself in a pool of my delusions,

To many questions to figure out,

So I wrestle with my shame, fear and doubt.

-Chrous

Why did you have to die?

Why did you take your life?

Why did you have to die?

Why did you take your life?

-Verse 4

I clench my fist

And I beat my Breast

You left me here alone

to figure out the rest

God forbid she may not have loved you,

But we Did!

You had a tender heart,

And those deep caring eyes,

But now your gone

and Im left,

paralyzed....

Lyrics- Hazelton

(Based on a poem by Trena Deminno)

-Sorry

-Verse I

Sorry for thinking I was better than you,

Never thought you needed me too,

I get short tempered when I know your right,

Cause I dont like to lose when we fight,

-Chorus

So Sorry I didn't listen when you talked,

Sorry I didn't follow when you walked,

So Sorry.....

-Verse II

I didn't know who I was suppose to be,

I didn't want them to make fun of me,

It was easier for you to take my place,

To be the one afraid to show your face.

-Chorus

So Sorry I didn't listen when you talked,

Sorry I didn't follow when you walked,

So Sorry.....

So Sorry I didn't listen when you talked,

Sorry I didn't follow when you walked,

Away.....

-Solo

-Bridge

What was I supposed to say?

Could I have made you stay?

I didn't care back then,

But thats not who I am...

NOW....

-Chorus

So Sorry I didn't listen when you talked,

Sorry I didn't follow when you walked,

So Sorry.....

Lyrics- Hazelton

The lyrics for Sorry came from Jeremy's little black poem book. The song talks about Jeremy pricking on a kid back in High School and looking back and regretting what he did. The song has a lot of emotion involved in it, Lyrically and Musically. The Music came from separate projects of Dave's and steve-o's that melted into one song.Clean, Delayed and Distorted electric guitar is used, along with loud bass and drums. Also this is the first song that Dave and Steve-O back up Jeremy vocally.

This song is very loud in every section. Plus song hasn't been preformed yet, but its ready to go. It will be interesting to see how the crowd responds to it.

Worse Day Everyday is our first effort at a Punk/Rock song. Mikey had been wanting a Punk song since the band's creation. So hopefully this makes for one happy drummer. The Lyrics developed out of Dave's Random Writings about a particular girl. (More quality class time) The song talks about struggling to talk to the girl you adore, but only to have her not even know you exist. (Like any good Girl Punk Song) Jeremy also reworked some of the lyrics to fit with the style of the song.

The music is straight up punk and fast. After it was orginially performed we reworked the chorus. Worse day, is definately a fun song we love to play. Too, were also interested to see what becomes of Dave's love life, because either way it goes, you know another song will probably come out of it. =]

-Worse Day Everyday

-Verse 1

Seven-thirty and my alarm clocking sounding,

Annoying buzzing... My head is pounding,

Gotta get my day started,

Kinda hard when your broken hearted

Why don't you talk to me?

You know I didn't get any sleep,

You don't know where I stand,

Cuz' I can't tell you who I am.

-Chorus

Beating myself up,

from the inside out,

I want to talk to you,

But I stay here and pout,

When you can't see,

What I'm all about,

So this is where I stand,

This is who I am!

-Verse 2

So I smile as you walk away,

I'll spill my heart another day,

Hope I'll be strong enough to show you

How much I want to know you

When your around I just shut down,

You'll never know how I hate to see you frown,

I'm afraid to tell you how I feel,

Too scared to lose, to accept the deal.

-Chorus

Beating myself up,

from the inside out,

I want to talk to you,

But I stay here and pout,

When you can't see,

What I'm all about,

So this is where I stand,

This is who I am!

-Ending Verse

Who I AM!

Who I AM!

Who I AM!

Who I AM!
