The Founding of Theta Phi Alpha In 1912, Bishop Edward D. Kelly formed a small sorority for Catholic women at the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor. Theta Phi Alpha sisters hold our founding sisters near to our hearts. These women struggled to get Theta Phi Alpha going they must be so proud and happy, wherever they are, to see how we are growing.
