In 1912, Bishop Edward D. Kelly formed a small sorority for Catholic women at the University of Michigan, in Ann Arbor. Theta Phi Alpha sisters hold our founding sisters near to our hearts. These women struggled to get Theta Phi Alpha going they must be so proud and happy, wherever they are, to see how we are growing.
The mission of Theta Phi Alpha is to create close comradeship, to advance educational, social and philanthropic interests and leadership training; to encourage spiritual development and adherence to the highest moral standards; and to promote lifelong bonds of friendship . . .
