Rainy, with hail, thunder and lightning.

I really overslept today. I kept hitting the snooze button on my phone and not waking up. It was so dark outside I think I didn't know that it was morning. I did get up in time to watch the news though.

I had an interesting morning and afternoon. I watched a lot of TV. I first watched my British telly programmes, Ashes to Ashes (just one more episode left!) and the new one, The Whistleblowers. It has real potential. Then, I watched The Fury. It's an old movie from the 70's. I remember seeing it when I was in school and missing all but the end. I read the book, but now I can say I've seen the movie. And it was silly! It had some "name" actors, like Kirk Douglas and John Cassavetes, but I don't think they were really into the story. Also, there were a lot of then unknowns in the cast. If you looked quickly you could see Dennis Franz, Darryl Hannah and Laura Innes. The "stars" were Amy Irving and Andrew Stevens. They were nice to look at, but not much in the acting department!

I headed off to work in the rain again. It wasn't as bad as yesterday because it was just rain. And, after a while, the rain let up, but I did get quite wet nevertheless. When I got to the school it was warm. I had set the heater to come on today and it was quite nice. It wasn't tropical though!

My class went well. The student had a running joke about "cold dogs" instead of hotdogs, but it made me a little happy because he was confident enough in his English to make jokes. Yay. However, by the end of the class he decided that he didn't want to do any more work so I stopped everything, previewed his homework with him, and then reviewed vocabulary.

Fumihiko came to get me tonight and took a freakishly long time to get me. I could have bicycled home in the time he took to come. He told me that he'd had a phone call from his boss just as he was leaving so he had an excuse.

We came home and I got started on dinner. I chopped up the veggies that I had bought. We got a new veggie that I'd never seen before. It was broccoli but it was on long thin stalks, not a head like usual. Good! I had the usual veggie mix from the grocery, then added the broccoli, a bit of onion, some shitaki mushrooms and the pork. I stirfried everything with a bit of fish sauce and some oyster sauce. It was good.

Fumihiko did the dishes, which really wasn't that hard as it was a one pot meal, and then we vegged for the evening. When he took his bath I watched a show I'd taped today.

He's off to bed now. He's having a bad time with his back these days. The weather is really causing him pain. We're discussing when would be the best time to have his surgery, but honestly, I don't know. There are a few times that I hope he doesn't pick (Christmas, my birthday), but really I want him to get it over with as soon as possible. Hopefully it'll be successful. Fingers crossed.

Well, I'm off tomorrow to Sendai for a couple of nights. I am planning to take my computer so there might be blogging with a delay. Take care and try not to miss me too much!
