In the beginning, -x-Dumbledores Army-x- was founded by me, Melanie, on January, 27, 2005. This was a great guild, and went very smoothly. We had many active, and dedicated members. Unfortunately, we started having some promblems. People were spaming the boards, being rude, we even had some hackings going on. We also started having some layout problems.

So, me doing what i thought was best for the guild, called a meating with the current guild heads. We all decided on planing to make a new guild, and leave that one to be. So, i made the new guild on August, 17, 2005. This guild is our current one, and Sence then, we have been doing great! We've put some spam rules up, and have wonderful dedicated heads and members. The guild soon got abreviated to DA which is what the guild is more commonly known as today.

Like all guilds, Dumbledores Army started small, but we soon grew and grew. People were attracted to our slightly different style of Harry Potter guild - more literate and less spammy than other guilds.

Melanie(Mirroroferised) was the founder of DA, as you already know. Surfer was the first of the council to take up her spot as Head of Gryffindor, but later backed down, being to buisy to update regurarly. Next came Star who took up the position of Head of Ravenclaw, she is still in that position today. Aloha joined DA, a little later, and proved to be a great member, She was the one to successfully break the curse of the Head of Hufflepuff, it was a bit of a running joke in the guild and very much our equivelent of the DADA position - no one ever lasted!

DA has a wide variety of members covering a vast range of ages and comming from many parts of the world... Sometimes universe.

Members come and go, just like a real school, but we do have a strong core of longlasting members. We're forever building on this core with new members who come in to keep things going.

Even though it seems like we have a lot of members (and we would have even more if we didn't delete inactive accounts!) DA has remained pretty personal. Our unique posting rules mean it's easy to keep up with posts and people, even those members who aren't in your immediate time zone.

Bar the very first layout, Mirror has done all the guild layouts for the past year. They've definately got better over time!


We all hope that DA will long continue in the way it has done as we've all made good friends here who share a common obsession with everything HP (and a close-knit group of Snape Lickers).

We see no reason why it shouldn't as DA is a real team effort with many members involved in keeping things updated like our contests and classes, keeping our boards clean and free of spam, participating in events and donating time and NP to keep the guild running smoothly.
