A large ceremonial drum, Pulguksa temple, Gyeongju. This city was once the capital of the Silla dynasty, and was abandoned when Silla was overthrown and the capital moved to present-day Seoul. As a result, many cultural treasures there survived which otherwise would have been lost. Much of the city has been designated a UN World Heritage Site.
