The Classics Department consists of
a single member of Staff, David Swift, who lives the life of a recluse
in the monastery pictured right, at Meteora in
Northern Greece. He comes down only occasionally to take pictures of classical
sites (all the pictures on this web site are his) but during Term time
he does teach Classical Civilisation, Latin and Greek. If you wish to
speak to him, he is always pleased to talk Classics or Latin.
He enjoys the past as much as the present, and looks to the future with
some concern for any student who has no Classical training.
