FIELD HOCKEY

THE 2003-2004 FIELD HOCKEY TEAM

The 2003-2004 Field Hockey Season was a rocky one!!! After losing the coach from last year (coach Warren) the team was in search of a new coach. That is when coach Garcia came to the rescue. He was willing to take the time out of his schedule and help us out. Coach Garcia recognized the teams talent and dedication. Since coach Warren did not schedule the team games for this years playing season coach Garcia tried his best to get us games. Garcia worked out some misunderstandings and was able to get the team three games. The team of twenty-six girls practiced hard each game hoping that more games would come our way. Every girl put in their part to make the team work out. Captains, Esmeralda Alvarez and Jamie Carvajal, kept the team together. We put smiles on their face when things were not going so well and we kept spirits up throughout the season. Our forwards put the points on the scorecard, our mid-fielders backed up the forwards, our defense helped keep the ball out of the opposing team side and our goalie kept the ball out of the goal. Our manager, water boy, and assistant coach all helped out in their own special way to keep the team together.

One man can be a crucial ingredient on a team, but one man cannot make a team.
