Jhenidah Cadet College is located at Jhenidah district about 300 km away from the capital Dhaka City which is one of the ten (10) specialized residential public schools of the country. These academic institutes reputes itself not only for academic excellence but also for providing a disciplined environment for development of all round faculties of its students. These institutes offer a six year residential course and the curriculum is separate from other institutes in the country which is specially designed in line with the Public Schools of the United Kingdom. A separate regulatory body, called the Governing Bodies of the Cadet Colleges, headed by the Adjutant General of Bangladesh Armed Forces run the overall management of the Cadet Colleges.

The Ex-students of Jhenidah Cadet College, generally called the Ex-Cadets, have founded the Association, JEXCA in 1970 , although it officially came into existence on 8 October 1973 primarily as a platform for fostering the bondage and exchange of ideas and thinkings amongst the Ex-Cadets of Jhenidah Cadet College.

JEXCA has its own charter and is registered with the Social Welfare Department of Bangladesh as a non-profit making , charitable organization (Reg.No: DHA-01166.Date:28/8/1982).The Association is run by a 21 member body elected by its members in its Annual General Meetings. All the office bearers of the Association are honourary and its registered office is located at Dhaka. It has presently three branches, located at Chittagong, Khulna and in the USA. The Association has its own logo and seal.

The strength of the Association lies in its members the number of which has currently exceeded 1300. Of these, approximately 26% are staying abroad, the majority in the USA. Approximately 24 % of its members are currently serving the Bangladesh Armed Forces. Medical profession contribute for roughly 15% of all the members of JEXCA. Most of these members are specialists in different disciplines of Medical Science and Public Health. About 14 % of its members are Engineers and Architects engaged in different sub-disciplines while 6 % of its members are engaged in independent business. Only 2 % of its members are employed in Government job while 5% are in Marine service and the rest 4% have taken up teaching as their profession.

The organization’s day to day running expenses are met from the annual subscriptions of its members.All its receipts and expenditure are regularly audited by external auditors appointed by the Association in its Annual General Meetings. The audited reports are shared with the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Bangladesh.
