So we are in a another civil war in a foreign country endangering our service people & spending millions of dollars. Should we be there?? Don't we still have ground troops in Bosnia years after Clinton said we would be out?? The press reported 250,000 killed but actually it was between 50,000 - 70,000 in Bosnia. Folks, it's all politics. Just about every war has been about politics!! If the USA had another civil war, how many other countries would be over here bombing & killing innocent people, including children??

Milosevic has been waging war for a decade & what European countries tried to stop him?? This war is costing the USA 25 to 60 million dollars a day! There are (30) countries right now involved in some kind of conflict, many involving etnic cleansing. On any given day there are at least (20) countries where this is going on. How does NATO and/or USA pick & choose which country to destroy?? Seems like wherever CNN focuses their coverage is where we wind up warring. Why haven't we intervened in China's civil wars??

War destroys countries, men,women,& children. The USA pays for the bulk of these wars & then we pay again when we re-build these countries. Does this make sense? The Gulf war costs USA alone some (61) BILLION dollars!! One Tomahawk missile cost (1) million dollars by itself. As of April 14, 1999 the USA has spent (600) million dollars trying to defeat Milosevic & this money has to come out of our surplus. And our surplus is the Social Security Fund.And now we are going to spend at least 200 billion in Iraq! In the meantime Congress puts on a show about how they are going to save Social Security & Medicare. What a joke!!

I wish everyone would write, call, or e-mail Congress about the USA trade deficit of (60) billion dollars with China. Don't you get sick & tired of buying the cheap merchandise made in China at Wal-Mart, K-Mart, and other stores. Write these companies & express your displeasure.

The Commission to reform Medicare had its final meeting in March, 1999 & voted. It did not garner enough votes to pass on the proposed reform. Why?? Because politics once again has reared its ugly head. All they can think about is re-election!! The Medicare Prescription Drug Bill that passed in Nov. 2003 has to be the worst possible. The HMO's, drug manufacturers, & insurance companies are going to get even richer & Senior Citizens are up the proverbial creek, not to mention the taxes that will be inflicted on our children & grandchildren. The drug companies gave over 60 million to the Reps.

The Democrats & the Republicans each had a Patient's Bill of Rights before them in 1998. Each bill had some good & some bad features in it but I guess all the big money aka lobbyists got to the Congress. Meantime (43) million Americans have no health insurance coverage & millions more are in bad HMOs. Congress could have taken the best of both bills & really helped millions. But that would have meant cooperation of both parties & we all know that is not going to happen. What a shame !!
