Utopia Gym Class
Off-Kilter
cfc started a clp in minnesota already! i think it's ongoing as we speak! soon, we might hafta start yfc there, too.

just wanted to say that some of us might get all excited about the numbers and then when we see there's only 300 people present, we go, "awww mahn. just 300?"
but yanno what i mean. :-) it'll be hard starting anything anywhere -- campus, high school, a new yfc in a new state -- but we only need ONE committed person to begin anything.
and you can be that one. HEY! anything is possible with the Lord! :-)
i saw "lagaan" recently, and all it took for 11 men to play and the whole central indian provinces to come see the game cricket was one person's dreams and determination. hecka inspiring, hehehe... rent that 4-hour movie when you get a chance. it's subtitled and a musical, so i'm mighty thankful for fast forward buttons!!! hahaha. ...
and not only do we need one person to start, but we need perserverance and hope to continue. everyone overlooks that part, i think -- the continuation thing. in school, it's not only important to start a paper, but to continue and finish it, right? same with yfc, and same with any activity we do.
besides, it ain't us who's doin the work... it's the Lord. we're not the only soldiers He has. He'll start, continue and end His CFC-YFC Illinois the way He wants to. :-) it's so good to know that we're already in His hands even before we begin any activity!
there's this song we sing. ...
we're running the race to win
all the way to the end
breaking down every sin that would seek to hinder us
and we'll be faithful
to our calling
for You are able to keep up from falling
and in Your promise
we will trust
we'll be faithful to finish
the work You began in us
and i wonder... God didn't care how fit we were when we began this race. He whipped us into shape. i wonder how carefully we've maintained our shapes since we first signed up for Utopia Gym Class? i wonder if we have strength to go on and if we are equipped with the strength to go on.
but if God Himself believed in us in the first place... i should have faith to continue, as well. therein lies my hope.woohoo!
