Credit Cards

Everyone has a credit card. And most people use it reasonably and out of necessity since you have to have one if you wish to order something online, make an airline or hotel reservation etc. I know a very decent, hardworking family where the parents have raised their two children who have now left home. Now these two very nice people have given up everything they can possibly do without, and I mean everything, just so they can concentrate on paying off their credit cards before they retire. They know that there will be no retirement for them as long as they owe a balance on their cards. Both, husband and wife are working, the husband up to 12 hours a day.

The loser in the White House wants to give tax breaks to the wealthy in order to "stimulate" the economy. I think I have a better idea. Why not force the bankcard companies to pay reparations to the people that they have scammed for so many years. Every penny above a fair interest rate. Every penney that could be considered usurous. They should have to make reparations to all the people who have paid their usurous rates. They should have to give people back their homes, the ones who have lost them to some crooked bankcard companies. Imagine! just imagine the GRAND STIMULATION! the economy would get from this! The economy would get a much better boost from this than any tax break for the wealthy would create. Plus, imagine this, the banks would still have money. They would not go broke. They would still have made a profit. Not that I care about this. I wish they would sink into oblivion like a victim of Tony Soprano, with a rock tied to their leg. But if the loser in the White House wants to boost the economy, someone should tell him how to do it Big Time.

Meanwhile many good decent people are paying and paying and paying . . . . . . . . .

Bankcard Blues

Bush Quote
"The tax cuts will make the economy grow. As people do better, they start voting like Republicans -- unless they have too much education and vote Democratic, which proves there can be too much of a good thing." As quoted by Nicholas Lemann in "Bush's Trillions" in the New Yorker Feb 19 and 26, 2001, p. 78. Karl Rove, 19-Feb-01

There is a very real danger that millions of Tennesseans will lose their health insurance coverage under TNCare. If our Tennessee representatives in Nashville fail to give us a fair tax reform, and democrats in Washington D.C. lose the battle to defeat Bush's tax break for the wealthy scheme and his budget gets passed.
