Rudimentary Peni
The Underclass 7"

This is just awful. The music is boring and slow as are the lyrics. The lyrics are also really strange and morbid. I absolutely love Rudimentary Peni but I just can't get into this release. Huge letdown, I suggest getting the EPs of Rudimentary Peni if you want to hear the good Rudimentary Peni.

Oi Polloi
Fuiam Catha Lp
Skuld Releases

The first Lp by Oi Polloi in years, and wow this is good, anarcho-punk at its finest. This combines punk and hardcore and even a bit of pogo punk to form a really original sound, it doesn’t sound similar to anything ive eveer heard before, Lots of raging punk tues on this slab of vinyl. Lyrics about respecting the earth, animal rights, right-wingers, christians and oh yes, the once fantastic punk band now turned disco stars Chumbawamba. It also contains a cool sounding traditional Scottish folk song and a spoken word track by a woman with a really heavy Scottish accent. Everything about this lp is great, beautiful cover artwork, a zine like lyric booklet with an explanation and information for every song as wells as info and contacts for organizations and such Oi Polloi support, the lyrics and the music. What stands out the most to me amongst the music is the bass playing, its phenominal, or at least is sounds really good. Great Release, pick it up!

Standfast Armageddon Justice Fighter Lp
Sound Pollution Records

Cool striaght edge hardcore records featuring Hirax Max of Spazz on drums. Definate old school hardcore/straightedge hardcore feel with a bit of thrash and maybe a little powerviolence thrown in. Good lyrics about being straightedge, skateboarding, revolution and a bunch of personal issues. But the power of the lyrics are kind of negated by the singer seeing as he slurrs his words so badly that its hard to sing along or follow allong in the lyrics booklet. Oh, it has really cool cover art and lots of pictures of the band playing live, the lyric sheet has explantions of all of the songs and folds out into am awesome little poster of the band playing live. Over all a pretty good release by this CA band.
