9 Shocks Terror
Mobile Terror Unit 7”
Havoc Records
4th (I believe) release by these dudes from Ohio. Thrashy/Crusty hardcore type
stuff. Pretty standard hardcore lyrics with a bit of political/social
commentary. I was a bit disappointed by this release after it got so much hype.
Do yourself a favor and check them out live, they put on a fantastic show. If
you cant see them live then check out one of their earlier 7”s or the “Zen and
the Art of Beating Your ___” Lp. Oh, mines on grey wax.

The Dingees
Armageddon Massive
BEC Recordings
I really know nothing about this band other that that a few of my friends listen to them. Anyway, this reminds me a lot of Rancid (which isn't bad). The Dingees do a pretty good job of mixing up musical stylings on this album. A few are sing along Rancid style, almost streetpunk songs. Others are ska-ish (there is some brass on this record) and yet other are slow Clash style reggae songs. The lead singers voice somehow reminds me of the Blanks 77 guy, the guy from the Biols, Tim from Rancid, and to a lesser extent, Mick of the Clash. Nearly all of the songs on this contain some sort of underlying social or political message. Pretty good.

DS-13 / Code 13
Split 7"
This is harcore! Minneapolis' Code 13 (Felix von Havoc of Havoc Records Band)
team up with their Swedish counterparts, DS-13. DS-13 speed through 6.5 songs
produced by David from Refused. FAST hardcore by these straight edge thrash
mongers. Exceltent political/social lyrics on subjects such as cops, media,
hypocracy as well as songs about being straight edge and skateboarding. DS-13
also do half of "World Wide Hardcore Pride" (Swedish Style). Code 13 aslo dish
up 6.5 songs (13 songs in all, ha!) starting off with the seconds half of "World
Wide Hardcore Pride" (the american way) followed by and interesing organ
instrumental, from there on its straight up pissed off hardcore. This is, in my
opinion, Code 13's best work yet. Fast, angry, loud, political harcore. Tracks
about cops, graffiti, posers in the scene and corporate rock and Felix's voice
isnt half as irritating on this as it is on earlier releases. I love this
record! Buy It!
