Five In The Bed
A Fingerplay
There were five in the bed and
the little one said: Roll over! Roll over!
So they all rolled over and one fell out.
There were four in the bed and
the little one said: Roll over! Roll over!
So they all rolled over and one fell out.
There were three in the bed and
the little one said: Roll over! Roll over!
So they all rolled over and one fell out.
There were two in the bed and
the little one said: Roll over! Roll over!
So they all rolled over and one fell out.
There was one in the bed and
that little one said:
Good, now I've got the bed to myself,
I'm going to stretch and stretch and stretch!
Activity:
1. Act the rhyme out with five children, or toys; the toys can be knocked in turn off a
shelf, which will strike young children as enormously comical.
