ALL’S WELL AS ENDS WELL
Chapter Four

"Okay. We can’t butt in on this one. It’ll just mess up the storyline," I said.

"Okay. Fine," Katy said. We were leaning on the railing. "There’s Jack," Katy said, pointing to one of the benches.

"Come on! Let’s go over near the gate," I said.

"So…uh…are you hungry?" Katy asked.

"Yeah."

"Maybe after this we could ask Rose for something?" Katy asked, licking her lips.

"Sure," I said.

"Here she comes!" Katy said. We were watching like it was a movie. We watched Jack confront her. Rose was turning. "Isn’t there a part where she falls? And screams?"

"Yeah. Your point?" I asked. Without saying, Katy ran over to where Jack and Rose were. "Um…Rose…hi! Well, before you climb over, check that you’re not stepping on your dress! Friendly advice! And Jack, put your shoes and coat on. You don’t want to be suspected or anything, right?" Katy winked and ran back to our spot.

"Good thinking!" I said. But we heard her scream and fall, only to be caught by Jack. "Ah…great. The crewmen are coming. Nice job!" I rolled my eyes. We sneaked around the edge to see Jack, Rose, Cal, and some other people. "Let’s wait in Rose’s room," I said.

Katy and I ran into her room unnoticed.

"Hmm…I never knew her room would be so fancy," Katy said.

"She’s first class! What’d you expect?" Katy shrugged. The doorknob turned. "Oh, no!" We ducked behind Rose’s bed. We heard footsteps. Katy peeked.

"It’s okay. It’s only Rose." We sprang up from behind her bed.

"Girls?" she asked, startled. "What are you doing in my room?"

"Waiting!" Katy said. "So, how was it?"

"How was what?"

"Being saved! Duh!" Katy answered.

"Well, I guess it was nice. I have to go thank him tomorrow," Rose responded.

"Of course you do!"

"Oh, and if you still want the spare room…" Rose opened the door and pointed to a small door blending in with the wallpaper. "…it’s right there."

"Thanks!" I said. "I think we’ll use it."

Katy and I walked into the room. It was nice, simple. No wonder they didn’t want it. It wasn’t what one might call fancy. There were two small twin beds and a side table with drawers between them. Without another word, we plopped down on them and fell asleep.
