YAMATO'S CHARACTER INTERACTIONS

Yamato & Taichi about to commence with the Digi-Bitchfight... *grabs popcorn*

Yamato-Taichi: This is quite possibly the most controversial subject on the Digi-web... Taito is the most supported yaoi couple out there. Several of the people working on this site are for it, and several are against, and some just don't care. But whatever your view, you can't ignore it. With that off our chest lest look into this relationship. They always appear to be at each other's throats, but at times, you can tell they really truly respect one another. Tai and Yama share a deep friendship that doesn't shine through very often. Sometimes, they don't even seem aware of it. But it's there disguised in the form of rivalry, the two have a severe clash of personalities: Quiet and cool meets loud and genki and both sides want to lead, and both think they are correct in any argument. But most of the time they BOTH ARE right. They both see the other side of the coin, neither is wrong in the argument, they both have very good points and both make sense they just can't come to an agreement or make a compromise. Instead, they usually end up resorting to violence in the form of fist fights; aka: bitch-slappin' Matt groping good times (in the words of fangirls everywhere). Anyway, as much as everyone loves these Yama-tumbling action scenes, there is more to it!. Yama, Mr. Cool and in control often comes unglued when pressed too hard by Tai. And this causes the friction, normally, they wouldn't act like this to each other without the stress caused by the digi-world therefore, at times when they AREN'T trying to kill each other, they seem to look to each other for guidance and help; such as when they took a risk on a prophecy and only in each other could they find the strength needed to let themselves be shot with arrows... All of Matt's counter seems to be Tai's safety check. Though Tai seems to get frustrated with Matt, without his counter points Tai couldn't fine hone his strategy and become a better leader. When Matt left Tai was always asking himself "what would Matt do?" In Season 02, the fights have stopped completely and Tai and Matt are great buds. They'll help each other and protect each other from virtually anything. Including themselves.

Even during a heated debate with Tai, Sora still finds the time of day to stare at the candy Yama bootay

Yamato-Sora: Like all characters, Yamato and Sora are sometimes paired together. In some people's mind, the best idea. In others, it's unthinkable. Here, we don't really mind either way, though we think Sora will most likely end up with Taichi. Anyway, Yama and Sora get along well enough, Sora often tries to be nice to Yama, and Yama obviously respects her calm and stable self. For example, when Yama was leaving the group in Season One, Sora suggested that instead of Yama leaving on his own, that they break up into two groups instead of one big one, and therefore Yama wouldn't be alone, a nice gesture on Sora's part. But also, Sora's role in the earlier episodes as the basic leader played a part, while Taichi, Yama, and sometimes Jyou would argue over decisions, Sora would already be making them, stopping Yama from arguing any further. In 02, they haven't spoken a direct word to each other yet.

What exactly are they doing..? WE DON'T KNOW...! But it looks cool...^_^

Yamato-Koushirou: Yama and Kou-kun seem like good friends. They are quite capable of having an intelligent conversation together and they also seem quite content in each other's company. Also, in the episode where they found their crests, Yamato disclosed some incredibly personal information about himself to Kou-kun, a rarity on Yama's part. And another thing, the two of them found their crests together in the same place. Does this mean there is some sort of connection between the two of them? Some important Digital mystery? (to add to the millions that already exist) But Koushirou seems inclined to side with Yamato in most matters where he and Taichi argue. In Season Two, Yama and Koushirou, along with Taichi, seem to hang out together A LOT!! They appear to be the main staple of the older kids that actually hang around with one another. Also, sometimes, Yama teases Kou-kun about being a nerd, but at the same time, Kou-kun is often seen teasing Yama for not being as smart as him. A cute friendship (and not many people pair them, so it's JUST a friendship, okay?)...

And here they are...not interacting...As usual.

Yamato-Mimi: M&M, eh? Well, as much as it is disliked to admit it, a WHOLE SHIT LOAD of people seem to think they are made for each other... I just don't see it, there's NO evidence in the show, sorry guys... it isn't happening. I mean I can COUNT the number of times Yama has spoken directly to or about Mimi on ONE HAND... I say four just in case I missed any times, but I've only counted three. In the second episode when TK called Mimi cute, Matt said whatever. In the fourth episode when Mimi called the Yokomon stuffed animals, Matt asked if Mimi heard the same things normal people do. In the fifth episode, the all-famous fifth episode, Mimi and Matt actually speak directly to each other about the Andromon factory and how it's based on perpetual motion... That's it... there's no more... no hidden episodes, no lost episodes, no 02 rumors even, except that he was talking to her on the phone once (which I suppose makes four times he's spoken with her). But I do believe they COULD be friends, conceivably. And they do look physically good together, and if you stretch, they could be the infamous Mimato couple in your imagination. And I actually like the Mimato fics, but the fact remains that there is no relationship of any kind except passing acquaintanceship between the two of them.

We bow down to the omnipotent one..

Yamato-Jyou: Uh... I've seen Jyouto, but I think I'll pass that move onto Yama and Jyou's really spiffy friendship. Well, Yama apparently seems to have a soft spot for Jyou, even though he teases Jyou relentlessly sometimes, he genuinely seems to appreciate Jyou's company and personality. Jyou seems like he wants to please Yama, as well, he sometimes goes out of his way to help out him. In WereGarurumon's Diner, Jyou risks himself to save Yama's brother, even after Yamato was tricked into saying cruel things about Jyou. After this gesture, Yama seems convinced of Jyou's friendship, and from there on, Jyou and Yama have nothing but kind words between them. Yama respects Jyou's authority, too, what little he has in the form of age and wisdom does seem to have an impact on Yama (and Tai), more so than the others. The two boys also seem to understand one another's positions in life. Before Jyou proved himself by saving TK, Yama would blow him off, but afterwards, Yama would listen to what Jyou had to say, and the two shared a deep understanding of each other.

'Gee Matt, you look different...did you cut your hair?' 'No, I just haven't been using as much gel'

Yamato-Takeru: Hmm... here's an easy one: they're brothers! Yamato is INCREDIBLY over-protective of Takeru at first, but later on TK grows and becomes more independent. Yamato seems a bit lost for a while, but by Season Two, the brothers become more brotherly and treat each other as friends instead of as a protector and his charge. The rest of their relationship can be found in Matt's profile.

It wasn't Matt's fault..!

Yamato-Hikari: Kari has been paired with Yama before, most people agree that girls always go for their older brother's friends. This is true, but Kari already seems to have her sights set on Takeru. On the other hand, Yama is the only person in the Digi-group who ISN'T overprotective of Kari. He treats her like a normal girl, not a special, superpowered, psychic, possessed lightbulb who has a kitty-digimon. This seems to cause Kari to look up to him a bit, I mean, he's the only one who isn't forcing her to sit in a corner all day to stay safe, why shouldn't she appreciate this? Anyway, the two of them don't communicate often, as it is with Yamato, he just isn't all that talkative sometimes. He's not very good with children either, he always manages to say the wrong thing, and poor Kari is a blatant example of this.

Suffer, Davis!! Stop copying MY Taichi!!!

Yamato-Daisuke: Yamato loves to tease him and pick on him, and would probably greatly enjoy beating Daisuke senseless, but Yama's a bit too nice for this, so instead, he and Taichi normally just gang up on Daisuke and give him a hard time. Daisuke is a bit thick and seems to take it and make a fool of himself. Yama also seemed REALLY surprised when Daisuke got the Egg of Friendship, apparently, Yama liked the title of Friendship guardian... Anyway, Yama also doesn't like the fact that Daisuke doesn't have a perfect relationship with his sibling, like Yama does. Kinda weird considering his sister is the Jun-beast... Anyhow, Season Two's only just started, who knows, maybe Davis will catch on eventually...

We searched the ENTIRE Diginet, and this was the only Matt-Yolie pic we could find. If you squint, you can see her beyond the amassed hair of Tai and Matt in the background. Not interacting, and on her way to talk to Izzy. Hmmmm...

Yamato-Miyako: It's weird, Taichi and Yama are the only ones Miyako hasn't tried to flirt with at some point or another thru-out the series... I mean it could change at any instant, knowing Miyako and her drug-addict-like PMS-filled personality, she could be Willis-loving one minute, and the next minute, she could be hunting for Yama love. Who knows, they haven't really talked much in the Season yet, I assume their relationship will either be fangirl-idol or nerdgirl-cool guy... kinda like how he is with Kou-kun. One thing we DO know is that Miyako does sound mixing for Yama's band. So there is some interaction there.

As Cody tries to impale himself on a horn, Matt looks a little worried...

Yamato-Iori: Umm... not much going on here, I guess Matt will be over-protective of Iori-chan, too, much to Iori's discontent, I'm sure. Maybe Miyako-chan will stick up for Cody... who knows, it hasn't happened yet!!!

If you use that magnifying glass gathering dust in some drawer, you MIGHT be able to make out the tiny little blonde dot that is Matt, and next to him a grey and black blurr that is Ken.

Yamato-Ken: Well, the two angsty so-and-so's of the group, I'd think they get along just fine, or maybe they'll be real enemies, I hear there's an episode coming up with just Ken and Yama in it together, so I guess we'll get some real info on this one... till then... um....

Matt COULD be looking at Willis....WAIT! Is that Tai..?

Yamato-Willis: Notice how these keep getting smaller and smaller? Well, Willis and Yamato probably never even actually met... but I'm sure Yama's thankful that Willis saved his life in Movie 3. ^_^ I suppose if they ever meet, Willis would get along with Yama well enough. Of all the younger kids, Willis seems the most like Yama: confident, cool, smooth, but always sad on the inside...

So...much....horn....

Yamato-Gabumon: Gabumon is obviously Yamato's best friend ever. Gabby helped Yama to even first understand what friendship really was. Since then, Yama and Gabby have always be there for eachother and helped each other out, unconditionally for whatever the reason or need. Gabumon is the only one who TRULY understands Yama completely. Though this all sounds cool and great, I don't approve of bestiality, and I think Gabumon and Yamato should not be paired with each other. Even the whole Gijinka thing with the two of them seems really wrong... so just don't, please? But in the later episodes of the series, Gabumon talks Yama through his most disparaging hour of despair. If Gabby hadn't been there, it's almost sure that Yama would be lost... how sad, yet at the same time, good, cause Gabby WAS there, and Yama WAS saved, Yay! ^_^

RUN! The Jun-Beast Cometh!!! Someone save Matt!!

Yamato-Jun: Bad, understand me? BAD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Jun-beast wants to do horrible things to Yama's young and innocent body, leave him alone! BAD Jun-beast! That's a BAD Jun-beast! BAD! RESPECT MY AUTHORI-TAH!!!! ::beats Jun with a stick:: As everyone knows, the Jun Beast is our resident Yama stalker. At first Yama was rather pleasant to Jun. He signed her shirt for her and even stuck up for her when Davis was being a jack ass. But alas. This bit poor Yama-chan in his candy-like Ishida boo-tay. She took it to head and started following him around.. He can't get rid of her now! Ever since she tricked him into going on a date with her, Yama has avoided her at all costs. Which just doesn't work with the Jun-Beast. Her and her evil ways. She always manages to track him down and drop in uninvited. Desperate to get rid of her, Yama will resort to lies and even trickery! The poor thing has to degrade himself to get peace and quiet!
