~*~More Than That~*~

Chapter 4

It was three hours after Scott raped her. Carol woke up hoping it was all a big nightmare. She looked around and found herself naked in the middle of her living room and her clothes on the floor ripped apart. She then realized that it was all real. It wasn't a dream.
She softly began to cry to herself. I need to get out of here. Out of this house. Away from Scott. Carol thought. She walked up the stairs and into their bedroom. She found Scott sleeping on their bed. She was careful not to wake him up. She packed up all her clothes and put on a pair of jeans and a white T-shirt. She walked out of the room. Out of this house. Out of this life.
A.J. woke up after another 15 minutes of sleep. He couldn't stop thinking about Carol. We have rehearsal tomorrow. I need the rest. Why do I keep thinking about her. She has a boyfriend. She probably doesn't even think of me that way.A.J. thought.
"I need to take a walk," he said to himself as he changed into some clothes and walked out the door.
"I need to get out of this place. Get away from him," Carol kept repeating over and over as she walked down 56th Street. Tears were streaming down her eyes as she walked. She could hardly see where she was going. "Need to get away from here." Carol kept walking until she bumped into someone. She looked up surprised to see who it was.
"Carol?" the voice asked.
"A.J?" Carol said while tears dropped from her eyes.
"What's wrong? Why are you crying?" A.J. asked with concern. Carol opened her mouth to explain but the words couldn't come out. She just cried even more as A.J. took her into his arms and stroked her hair. He carried her and her suitcase as back to his house.
By the time they arrived at A.J.'s house Carol fell asleep. She looks so peaceful and beautiful. What's that? As A.J. looked closer he could see a bruise on her cheek. My God! What happened to you? A.J. thought. He turned off the lights and walked back to his room wondering who would want to hurt Carol.
