Part One:The Dream Of A Lifetime

Chapter 1

Friday, June 5, 1998

Valondra Summers was walking home from the last day of school. She was getting ready to start her summer vacation and she was thinking about the hottest group out right now; the Backstreet Boys. She was in love with this group since the beginning and this group consisted of five very eligible men; Nickolas Carter, Howard Dorough, Alexander McLean, Brian Littrell, and Kevin Richardson.

She continued her walk home when she passed a tall male with sunglasses, brown hair, and tattoos going down both his arms. He smiled at her and she looked back at him when he passed and noticed the striking resemblance he had to one Alexander James McLean. She just shook it away and thought of it as a coincidence and continued home, as she passed another man. This man had sandy blonde hair, nice blue eyes, a caring smile, and a cross tattoo on his left arm and bared a good resemblance to Brian Thomas Littrell.

“Oh boy,” Valondra said to no one. “I’m going crazy. Those guys just looked like Brian and AJ. Damn Florida weather.” She shook her head and sighed as the thought went through her mind. She just continued on walking and spotted a man walking towards her. She just looked at him noticing that he looked like Kevin Scott Richardson. This man had some bushy eyebrows, brown hair, green eyes, and a sensitive look about him. He smiled at her, as he walked by and she kindly returned the smile. “Get a hold of yourself, Valondra, there is no way they’re in Clearwater.”

“Hi,” someone said approaching her and she looked to see a very handsome Latino with shoulder length curly brown hair and a million dollar smile.

“Hi,” Valondra said not believing what she was seeing.

“Beautiful day isn’t it?” the Howard Dwaine Dorough look-a-like said.

“Yeah,” Valondra said. “It’s a very beautiful day.” He continued smiling as he walked by and she turned to look at him. “Not fair, God. I want to see the real guys themselves.” As she was getting ready to turn to her house she literally ran into someone and they both fell to the ground.

“I’m sorry,” the guy apologized. “Are you all right?”

“Yeah,” Valondra replied. “Are you all right? I didn’t see you coming.”

“I’m fine.” He got up and held out his hand for Valondra to take. “Let me help you up.” She looked at him, ready to put her hand in his, but stopped when she noticed who it was; tall, blonde, blue eyes, gorgeous, and the sexiest smile ever. She continued looking at him and bit her bottom lip. “I highly doubt that the ground’s very comfortable.” She just continued looking at him. “Now if I were an arrogant bastard I’d just let you sit there and not care, but I’m not and I’m offering to help you up.”

“Right.” She just sat there.

“You’re not hurt are you?” “Um, no…sorry.” She put her hand in his and he pulled her to her feet. “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.”

They kept a hold of each others hand and looked at each other, as Valondra asked, “You’re Nick Carter…aren’t you?”

“Guilty as charged. And you are?”

“Um, Loni Summers.”

“Beautiful name…Loni.” He smiled and kissed her hand, as she bit her bottom lip again to control her excitement. “Is it Loni as in Loni Anderson?”

“Um, no,” Valondra said smiling. “It’s actually Valondra.”

“Even more beautiful.”

Valondra smiled and said, “Thank you.”

“You’re welcome.”

“So I wasn’t daydreaming after all.” She took a deep breath as Nickolas smiled. “Wow! This is…um…beyond words to describe. This is just…wow! You’re…they’re…Clearwater… just give me a moment for this to…um, uh, leave my system.”

“Alright.” He looked at her smiling, as she started pacing back and forth and trying to get the excitement to leave her system.

A few moments passed and she stopped and looked at him saying, “It’s not leaving.” Nickolas continued smiling and she shook her head while returning the smile. “I bet you think I’m a complete idiot.”

“Not at all, but I’m just a regular guy.”

“I know that, but I have your picture on my bedroom walls so this is kind of…um, embarrassing I guess you could say.”

“This is nothing compared to the stuff I see everyday.” She just looked at him. “I’m actually impressed.”

“Excuse me? Why?”

“Because you’re not bawling your eyes out and hyperventilating.”

“I’ll wait until I get home to do that.” He laughed and shook his head. “Of course I’m kidding. I ain’t that weird or obsessed.”

“Of course you’re not.” They smiled at each other. “Would you like to meet the guys?”

“I met them during a walk by if that counts.” She smiled and he laughed again. “Yes, I’d love to meet them. It beats going home to a cold lonely house.” She continued smiling and Nickolas raised an eyebrow.

“Um…follow me.” She just smiled and followed behind Nickolas. He took her to a big bus and looked at her. “Ladies first.”

“Was this sitting here the whole time?”

“For the past hour or so I believe.”

“Right.” She shook her head and got on the bus, as Nickolas followed her. She stopped in her tracks, as she noticed the other four Backstreet Boys, and Nickolas ran into her. “Oomph!”

“Sorry.”

“You’re forgiven…this time.” Nickolas smiled, as the guys looked at them.

“Guys, this is Valondra. I met her outside.”

“Loni,” Valondra said.

“Nicky, what’d we tell you about picking up strange girls off the street?” Howard asked. “Especially on the corners.”

“I’m not a hooker,” Valondra defended herself. “I’m just a school girl ready to start her summer vacation that does not consist of standing on any corner.”

“That’s good,” Kevin said.

“You look familiar,” Alexander said.

“Yeah, we had a walk by,” Valondra said. “You smiled at me.”

“Right,” Alexander said walking over. “I’m Alex.” He kissed her hand.

“I know,” Valondra said smiling and pointing to the others. “And you’re Howie D. and Brian, and Kevin.”

“You’re the ‘beautiful day’ gal,” Howard said. “I never forget a pretty face.” She smiled.

“Honestly, I thought the Florida heat was finally getting to me,” Valondra said. “Then I ran right into Nick and realized it wasn’t the heat.” Nickolas only smiled at her.

“You’re a cute little girl,” Alexander said.

“I’m seventeen,” Valondra stated. “I’m far from being little and cute.”

“I can see that,” Alexander remarked towards her breasts and smiled.

“Alex,” Kevin said. “There is more to women than their breasts.”

“Like you didn’t notice them,” Alexander said and Valondra looked at them all, as they argued back and forth and she tried covering her breasts with her arms.

“I’m going to go,” Valondra said turning to walk off the bus.

“Do you need a ride?” Howard asked.

“No,” Valondra replied. “I live right around the corner so I can walk. You’re welcome to walk me home though.” She smiled.

“Thanks for the invitation,” Brian began, “but we can’t. We have a concert to get back to.”

“Ok,” Valondra said ready to walk off. “Um, if you’re ever this way again, look me up; Valondra Summers.” She walked off the bus and the five guys followed her.

Valondra started walking to her house, as Nickolas stopped her, “Loni.” She turned and looked at him. “We happen to have some extra tickets to our show tonight.” She just looked at him, as did the others.

“Nicky,” Howard said.

“They’re yours if you want them,” Nickolas stated. “It includes backstage.”

“How many do you have?” Valondra asked.

“Four,” Nickolas replied and she thought about it a moment.

“Alright,” Valondra said, as Nickolas walked over to her and handed her the tickets.

“Just show them to the guy at the front gate and they should let ya back,” Kevin said. “If not then tell them to come find us.”

Valondra just nodded and said, “Thanks, but I better get home.”

“Yes,” Kevin said. “You don’t want your parents to get mad.” Kevin hugged her and kissed her cheek.

“They probably don’t even know I’m not home yet,” Valondra said under her breath and the rest of the guys hugged her and kissed her cheek also.

“We’ll send a limo to pick you up at six,” Kevin said.

“You don’t know where I live,” Valondra pointed out and they just looked at her. “Fine, it’s 1028 Pacific Lane.”

“Thank you,” Alexander said. “Can’t wait to meet your friends.” Valondra nodded.

“Now may I go?” Valondra asked. “I have friends to invite to this concert tonight.” The guys nodded and Valondra started to walk, backwards. She waved to the guys, as they each got on the bus. Nickolas was the last to get on and Valondra watched him, as he smiled and waved to her. She smiled in return and when he was on the bus and out of view, she ran the rest of the way home.
