*~The Dream Of A Lifetime~*

Chapter 20

It was a little after midnight and Brian and Rachel had already left for their honeymoon. Valondra, Trace, Antoinette, and Justin sat a table and at a table across from them sat Kevin, Alyssa, Lance, Storm, and Christopher. Howard and Lillie continued dancing and Alexander and Charisma decided to join them. Everyone else who was left at the reception was dancing, talking, cleaning up a bit, or getting ready to leave.

Nickolas sat across the room at a table by himself.

He was doodling on a napkin and stealing glances at Valondra. He was in a better mood since he finally got chance to dance with Valondra. As the DJ changed the song to Britney Spears’ “Crazy”, Nickolas remembered the time he and Alexander walked in on Valondra and Charisma dancing to it.

He had to smile to himself then looked up as he heard, “Alex, no! I can’t dance like that in this dress.” He watched, as Alexander carried Valondra over and put her beside Charisma.

“Anything’s possible, Lon,” Alexander said. “Just put your mind to it.”

“I’m not doing this alone,” Charisma stated.

“Fine,” Valondra said, as she saw Nickolas watching her.

“Go for it,” Alexander smirked stepping aside, as Nickolas joined him.

Valondra and Nickolas looked at each other and began to dance. For the next couple minutes the two girls showed everyone the dance routine they came up with to this song. After they were done, everyone applauded and Alexander walked over to the girls. He kissed Valondra’s cheek and then planted a big one on Charisma.

Valondra looked at Nickolas and smiled, as he walked over to her. They stood in front of each other and Nickolas said, “That was great. I haven’t seen that for awhile.”

“I haven’t done it for awhile,” Valondra admitted. “I can’t believe Alex remembered it.” They both looked at Alexander and Charisma, as they continued kissing.

“Could you teach me to dance like that?” Nickolas asked.

“Someday,” Valondra sad, as she walked back over to the table where Trace was still sitting.

Nickolas followed behind her, as Kevin approached Alexander and Charisma, with Alyssa and said, “I think they’re soon going to get back together.” Alexander and Charisma stopped kissing.

“I hope so,” Alexander said. “But you always know how to interrupt the perfect moment for me.”

“Get over it,” Alyssa said. “There’s more to life than making out with my sister, Alex. But if you’re going to do it then do it on someone else’s time…not mine.”

“Why do you think they’re going to get back together soon?” Charisma questioned. “I think Lon made it perfectly clear she doesn’t want anything to do with Nick.”

“Didn’t you see them dancing earlier?” Alyssa asked. “It was like they were inseparable…like the old days. And when Nick was sticking the garter on her? No one was in the room with them and those looks.”

“They wanted to jump each other’s bones,” Alexander chimed in.

“And I got it all on Polaroid,” Alyssa stated smiling.

“No I didn’t,” Charisma lied.

“I think you did,” Alexander replied. “But you don’t want them back together, because you want Nick all to yourself.” Charisma just looked at him. “You’re secretly thinking of Nick all the time and are wishing you were the one he was in love with.”

“I think someone’s a little paranoid,” Kevin pointed out. “He’s afraid his girl has eyes for someone else”

“Nonsense,” Alexander said. “I know Charisma loves me. Right, Baby?”

Charisma just looked at him a second then said, “Of course I love you.” They hugged, as Kevin and Charisma watched them and Charisma looked at Nickolas, as he hugged Valondra.

“Are you ready to go, my Love?” Kevin asked putting his arms around Alyssa.

“I guess,” Alyssa replied. “Are you ready to spend some quality time with your girl?”

“So sue me,” Kevin said kissing her.

“Later you two,” Alyssa said to Alexander Charisma, as they continued hugging.

“Bye,” Alexander and Charisma said in unison and Kevin and Alyssa walked away.

Nickolas, Valondra, Trace, Charisma, and Alexander were a couple of the last people left at Tabu; besides Howard and Lillie and a couple relatives. The five of them sat at a table all danced out. They talked about the recent festivities and how beautiful the wedding was.

“Trace,” Valondra began lifting her head off Nickolas’ shoulder, “I’m ready to go.” “Alright,” Trace said. “Let me go to the restroom first.”

“Go,” Valondra said, as Trace got up and walked away and she put her head back on Nickolas’ shoulder.

Nickolas looked at her and said, “Before you go, may I have another dance?”

“There ain’t no music, Nickolas,” Valondra pointed out. Just then ‘You’re The One That I Want’ began.

“Now there is.”

“You set that up.” Nickolas smiled.

“What do ya say?”

“Fine just one more and that’s it.” Charisma looked at them.

“Alright.” They got up and walked from the table.

“Are you ready to go?” Alexander asked Charisma, but she didn’t answer. “Charisma?”

“What?” Charisma asked coming out of her daze and taking her gaze off Nickolas.

“Are you ready?”

“Sure.”

“Where’s Loni?” Trace asked rejoining them and Alexander pointed. Trace turned around and saw Valondra and Nickolas dancing. He sat down and said, “I hope this means they’re getting back together.”

“Who knows,” Alexander said. “I have an idea, why don’t you let Nick take Lon home.”

“I mentioned it earlier when I saw them dancing,” Trace began, “but she didn’t want to hear no such thing. She said I was her date and wasn’t going to dump me to spend the night with someone else.”

“Ok,” Alexander said. “Then later man.”

“Later,” Trace said. “Bye, Riz.”

“Bye,” Charisma said and her and Alexander left.

A moment or so later, Nickolas and Valondra walked back over and she said, “Ok, I’m ready now. Sorry I made ya wait.”

“That’s fine,” Trace said, as Valondra picked up her shoes off the floor and got both her bouquets and the three of them walked out.

On the way back to Alexander’s house, Charisma was silent and just looked out the window. Alexander looked over at her and noticed she was in deep thought. As he stopped at a red light, he wondered a million thoughts of what could be bothering her. Alexander looked at Charisma again and asked, “What’s wrong, Babe?”

“Nothing,” Charisma lied. “Why?”

“It’s just that you’ve been really quiet since Rachel threw the bouquet. Are you upset, because you didn’t catch it?” He started driving again.

“I’m fine, Baby.” She smiled at him and hid the fact that something was bothering her. “I’m just tired and besides I could careless if I caught the bouquet or not. I’m in no hurry to get married.

“Are you sure that’s all that’s bothering you, because you’re just tired?”

“Yes so stop worrying.”

“Then I’ll take you home and put you to bed…after we have some quality time together. Can you stay awake a while longer?”

“I think I can manage.”

“I have a question, Riz.”

“What?”

“Did you ever think about my proposal after I asked you?”

Charisma looked at him and said, “Honestly I did, but my answer is still no. I’m sorry, but I’m just not ready to take that step and you know it.”

“I understand. No need to get huffy.”

“I’m not; besides who says we’re going to be together in two years anyway.”

“Me…well I’m hoping.”

“It would be nice, but what if something happens that’ll break us up.”

“Like what?”

“I don’t know. Say one of us falls in love with someone else.”

“Well, I ain’t falling in love with anyone besides you. If I didn’t love you I wouldn’t have proposed in Puerto Rico and I wouldn’t be with you right now.”

“Anything can happen, Alex.”

“Why are you talking like this?”

“I’ve been doing a lot of thinking since this whole fiasco with Loni and Nick and it’s making me wonder if it could happen to us.”

“It won’t so don’t worry. Loni and Nick are in love and all that happened between them was a misunderstanding.”

“That led to them breaking up.”

“Bu they’re going to get back together. You’re overreacting, Babe.”

“You’re probably right. I am going to spend a memorable night with you.”

“What a night it will be.” He smiled and they kissed.
