*~The Dream Of A Lifetime~*Valondra awoke to the chirping birds out on the patio. She opened her eyes and saw the roses Nickolas got her. She laid there looking at them for a minute then got up and left the bedroom. She went to the bathroom and started the shower. As she brushed her hair out, she looked in the mirror at herself and wondered who had taken over her life the past two weeks. She put the brush down and for the next 20-15 minutes she got a nice warm shower.
“Nick, what are you doing here?”
“I had to see you.” He walked over to her. “I couldn’t stay away any longer. I wanted to prove to you that I didn’t do anything with…her. I never would.”
“I know, Nick.” She dropped the brush and kissed him, while putting her arms around his neck. “I knew all along. I love you.”
“I love you.”
“Prove it to me then. Make love to me.” They continued kissing. “Make love to me right now and show me you love me.”
“Anything you want.” He picked her up and carried her out into her room. He carried her over to the bed and laid her down. She pulled him down on top of her and they looked deep into each other’s eyes; knowing it was the right thing to do.
“Loni, there’s something I need to tell you.”
“What, Baby?”
“Ariel’s here.” Valondra looked at him confused. “Lon, Ariel’s downstairs. She came to see you.”
Valondra rolled over, realizing it was just a dream. She opened her eyes and saw Antoinette standing by her bed looking at her. I really need to lock that door at night, Valondra thought to herself. Valondra rubbed her eyes saying, “If it were only that simple.”
“Excuse me?” Valondra just shook her head. “Ariel’s waiting downstairs.”
“Tell her I’ll be down in five minutes.”
“Alright. I’ll ask about that simple thing later.”
Antoinette walked out the door, as Valondra just laid on her bed thinking. She sat up and looked at the roses on her nightstand. She noticed a little card in the flowers and reached for it, just as she heard, “Valondra, get your ass out of bed!” Valondra looked up and saw Ariel walk in the room. “Hey, girl.”
“Hey, Ariel,” Valondra said, Ariel sat on the bed. They hugged. “How’s it going?”
“Better than you’re doing. Do you mind telling me what happened exactly?”
Valondra got off the bed saying, “How’s married life treating ya?”
“Very good.”
“How long has it been? Eight months?”
“Yes eight months and three months pregnant.”
“Congrates.” She hugged her. “You and Jonathan will make wonderful parents.”
“Thanks, but what about you? What are you doing since this whole thing with Nick?”
“Trying to forget him.” She chuckled. “Is that possible?”
“I don’t know. You tell me. It doesn’t really seem you’re trying.” She looked around the room, as Valondra looked at her.
“I am. Trust me. This box is full of stuff that reminds me of Nickolas.” Ariel walked over to the desk with Valondra. “I’m giving it all back to him.” Ariel began to go through the box. “I gave him a shoebox full of stuff yesterday, so he’d get the hint. Actually I threw it down the steps at him. I hope the pictures didn’t cut him.”
“See you still care.” She took something from the box. “This is your favorite shirt…and favorite pair of thongs.” She helped up the black tank top with matching panties that had ‘sexy’ written on them in silver glitter.
“And they’re from Nicky. Therefore I don’t want them and giving them back.”
“Do you love him?”
“What does that have to do with anything?”
“Just answer the question, Summers. Do you love him?”
Valondra looked at her a few seconds then said, “I love Nick very much.”
“Then what’s the problem?”
“Besides the fact that I walked in on him and his ex kissing in his parlor? Nothing really, everything’s peachy.”
“Right. You don’t have to lie to me. What’s really bothering you?”
“Nothing.” Ariel just looked at her a bit annoyed. Valondra looked up at her and said, “Would I be totally messed up if I told you that I’m totally in love with Nickolas, but I don’t want to be with him?”
“Yeah. Why would you even say you don’t want to be with him?”
“I don’t know.” She sighed. “I guess it’s because of the way I’m feeling right now. I’m so confused. I love him one minute and then the next I hate him and can’t stand to be around him.”
“I heard he explained what happened. Don’t ya believe him?”
“In a way. Maybe if I didn’t see them half-naked it wouldn’t be so hard, ya know.”
“You can’t be that mad if you kept his roses.” Valondra looked at her. “Alyssa told me.”
“What if it was Jon? Would you be all calm about it? Or would you be upset like me?”
“At first I’d be upset, but I’d listen to his explanation and know he was telling the truth, because he loves me and would never lie to me, no matter how much the truth hurt. Nick loves you and would never lie to you and that’s a fact.”
“I’m still very confused.”
“I know; Toni, Rach, and I are going to spend the day getting pampered. It’s my wedding present to Rachel. Why don’t you come with us?”
“Another thing to remind me of Nicky. I’ll pass.” Ariel just looked at her. “Nick would always take me to the spa for no reason. It was a way of saying how much he loved me. I wouldn’t be much company anyway.”
“Alright. If that’s the way you feel. I’m not going to pressure you into it.”
“Besides, I have something to take care of today and I need to think before I make any final decisions.”
“Ok. Feel better.”
“I’ll try. Now go. I don’t want you to feel sorry for me.”
“Alright; I’ll see ya later.” They hugged.
“Bye.”
Valondra watched Ariel leave the room and she walked back over to the box. She stuck the shirt and undies in, paused, and began to think about the good times. It didn’t last long, as her mind went back to the Nickolas’ parlor. She just shook her head and tears filled her eyes.
