Kaci wakes up to A.J. making breakfast for the two of them.
“Smells good,” Kaci says walking into the kitchen.
“Good morning sunshine,” A.J. says giving Kaci a kiss.
“Good morning yourself,” Kaci says grabbing a piece of bacon. “Whatcha making?”
“Your favorite,” A.J. says taking a bite of the piece of bacon Kaci grabbed.
“And what might my favorite be McLean?”
“A little of this, a little of that. Trust me, you’ll love it,” A.J. says.
A.J. kisses Kaci and then goes back to making breakfast.
“Does this mean I have to find a house that has a big kitchen?”
“Well, if you want a big kitchen you would.”
“Me? But it’s your house!” Kaci says confused.
“Yes you. Why don’t you go look for houses online while I finish making breakfast,” A.J. suggests.
Kaci goes and gets A.J.’s laptop and goes into the living room to start a search of houses in West Palm Beach.
“So, how much do you want to spend McLean?”
“Nothing ridiculous,” A.J. says finishing up breakfast.
“Well, what’s ridiculous? One million, six million, ten million?”
“Ten million is pushing it,” A.J. says walking out of the kitchen with a plate for him and a plate for Kaci.
A.J. sits down next to Kaci on the couch and hands her the plate he made for her.
“Looks good,” Kaci says putting the laptop to the side.
“So what do you want to do today?”
“Well, I kinda need to get clothes for the meeting with Latium.”
“So nothing else?”
“Um, no not really.”
“So do you want to go to the studio with me tonight?”
“Tonight? Why don’t you go during the day?”
“Are you coming or not?”
“Yeah, of course, I’d love to!”
Kaci and A.J. finish their breakfast then get ready to go out to get Kaci clothes for her meeting with Latium.
“You’re not taking me to Kitson or some place like that, are you?”
“No. I learned my lesson yesterday.”
“Oh, okay. But can we go to Kitson?”
“You sure about that? You know the paparazzi practically live there, right?”
“Yeah, and? I want to go, is there a problem with that?”
“No, no problem. I don’t want to hear any complaining if your picture is taken.”
A.J. and Kaci get something for Kaci to wear to her meeting with Latium and then head to Kitson.
“So, what do you think the captions will be?” Kaci jokingly asks after her and A.J. are safely in his car.
“With them, who knows! Probably something about me and either my girlfriend or mystery woman going shopping. It never fails!”
“I just hope my dad doesn’t see any! He’d kick my ass if he knew!”
“We’ve got to work on the whole your dad not liking me situation!”
“Yeah, I know! So, what are we going to do until you have to go to the studio?”
“I don’t know. Probably just relax at home. Is that okay with you?”
“I guess so.”
Kaci and A.J. head back to his house to relax before A.J. surprises Kaci by taking her to see Kevin on Dancing With The Stars.
“Will you hurry up, we’re going to be late!” A.J. says impatiently.
“Well sorry! I didn’t know I had to get dressed up, ya know!”
“You look fine Jess, but we really need to leave.”
“I’m coming,” Kaci says walking out of A.J.’s bedroom.
“Alright, now we can leave. You’re explaining to Kevin if we’re late.”
“Whatever! Kevin loves me, he won’t mind!”
“If you say so.”
A.J. and Kaci leave and head to the Dancing With The Stars studio.
“Hey, we’re here,” A.J. says when he and Kaci arrive at CBS Television City Studio 43.
“Alright, I’ll be there in a minute to get you guys,” Kevin says then hangs up.
“I thought you were going to the studio to record for a new album?” Kaci asks confused.
“Um yeah, about that,” A.J. says.
“Is this another one of your little surprises?”
“Kinda. It was Kevin’s idea too.”
“So there is no studio to go to?”
“Well, not music, but you’re at a TV studio.”
“Doesn’t count! You said you were going to the studio to record a new album with the guys!”
“Eventually we will be recording a new album but not now.”
“I should’ve known, since Nick is still in Miami!”
“Should’ve, but you didn’t say anything!”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah. So where are we? Why are we here? I mean obviously to see Kevin, but for what?”
“He’s on that reality show Dancing With The Stars. I’ve been coming every week to show him support.”
“Oh, that’s cool. I guess that certified ballroom dance instructor is coming in handy right about now!”
“Yeah, he’s done pretty well so far. His biggest competition is Maksim Chmerkovskiy and his partner.”
“Oh, so that’s how you know Maksim!”
“Yeah,” A.J. says laughing.
A.J. and Kaci get out of his car and go into the studio with Kevin.
“I got you your usual seat,” Kevin tells A.J.
“Alright, that’s cool.”
“I gotta get backstage, but I’ll see you guys later,” Kevin says then gives Kaci a hug and goes backstage.
“So, is Kristin here with you usually?”
“Yeah, it’s usually me and Kristin. Kev said she would be here tonight too.”
“Oh that’s cool. I didn’t really get to talk to her at the party. I kinda felt bad that they came all the way to West Palm Beach and I didn’t see them both really.”
“I’m sure they both understand.”
“I hope so.”
“Well, it’s kinda why we came. I figured you would enjoy it. Maybe even pick up a few moves for when you tour.”
“What are you trying to say Alex?”
“Oh god, me and my big mouth!”
“Yes, you and your big mouth, now spill it Alex!”
“I kinda mentioned to a couple of the dancers that you were in the business and some, okay one, offered to teach you some moves.”
“And who would that be?” Kaci asks. “No wait, let me guess – Maksim?”
“Yes Maksim. But I know you and I know you’ll love him. Besides, he’s the best, and I know you only want the best.”
“Well, that’s definitely the truth! Can’t make it to the top without being surrounded by the best!”
“Yes you can!”
“Okay, you guys are like the exception.”
A.J. and Kaci talk about the business until Kristin joins them just prior to the show starting.
“Hey guys, thanks for coming,” Kristin says giving both A.J. and Kaci a hug.
“What else would we be doing on a Monday night?” A.J. jokes with Kristin.
“The same thing you’ve been doing every other week, but of course Alex! And guess where you’ll be tomorrow night too.”
“Yeah, I know, we’ll be right back here supporting your man,” A.J. says.
“We get to come back again tomorrow?” Kaci asks, having never seen Dancing With The Stars before.
“Yep! Tomorrow is the results show! It’s somewhat more laid back than tonight. Have you heard anything about who’s performing from your sources Alex?”
“No, actually I haven’t. I had been so busy planning the party for Jess that I didn’t keep up with the show last week.”
The lights dim signaling the beginning of the show is about to start. First up – Kevin and his professional partner, Karina Smirnoff.
“Wow! He’s really good!” Kaci says to Kristin.
“You know him, Mr. Perfection!”
Kevin and Karina finish their Waltz and head over to the judges to get their critiques and then backstage to get their scores.
“10!” Carrie Ann Inaba shouts.
“10,” Len Goodman says with no enthusiasm.
“10!” Bruno Tonioli shouts standing up from his seat.
Kristin, Kaci and A.J. all stand up immediately after Bruno, showing their support for Kevin.
“So now I get to see this Maksim guy, huh?” Kaci asks A.J. after they sit back down.
“We’ll find out soon enough when you get to see him. Unless Kristin knows.”
“Unless I know what?” Kristin asks.
“When Maksim is up.”
“Oh, he’s like the third one, so I guess he’s after Julianne Hough.”
“So basically he’s next, right?” Kaci asks.
“Yeah, I guess you could say that. All I know, because Alex asked me to see, is that Kevin was first, then Julianne Hough then Maksim. Thank god he wasn’t toward the end like last week!”
“Do you think I’ll be able to meet him and speak with him?”
“I’m not sure. It’s pretty hectic around here after the show. But it can’t hurt to try. He’s one of the popular professional dancers so everyone goes right for him.”
“Oh. Alex said he mentioned me to him. Do you think that’ll help me get to talk to him?”
“If Alex is with you, maybe. Watch though,” Kristin says pointing to the screen. “He’s up next.”
Kaci turns to view the video of Maksim and his partner rehearsing.
“He seems very driven,” she leans over to A.J. and whispers.
“Just watch,” A.J. says, not interested in what Kaci has to say at the moment.
Kaci focuses all her concentration on Maksim while the video plays and while he dances.
“10!” Carrie Ann proclaims.
“9,” Len disappoints.
“10!” Bruno says to cheers from the crowd and Kaci.
After Dancing With The Stars is over Kristin leaves and goes backstage to wait for Kevin while A.J. and Kaci work their way to Maksim.
“Hey,” Maksim says in his Russian accent when he sees A.J.
Maksim excuses himself from the people he was talking to in order to speak with A.J. and Kaci.
“Hey man, how’d that party go?” Maksim asks A.J.
“Does this let you know how it went?” A.J. says holding up his and Kaci’s hands.
“So, you must be Jess,” Maksim says extending his hand to Kaci.
“That would be me,” Kaci says returning Maksim’s handshake.
“I’ve heard a lot about you. All good things, of course.”
“Thanks, I think,” Kaci says laughing and giving A.J. a dirty look. “So what all has he told you?”
“Nothing really. Just that he loves you and that you’re in the industry. Oh and the party that he was planning for you.”
“Really?”
“Yep. Hey, do you guys want to come back to my dressing room? I’ve got to get out of these!”
“I guess we can, if you’re inviting,” A.J. says looking at Kaci. “Do you mind?” he asks her.
“Not at all,” Kaci says looking at Maksim.
