Chapter Twenty-One
“Hello?” Kaci says answering her phone.
“Hey Kaci. ¿Usted está haciendo cualquier cosa esta noche?” an unrecognizable voice says. (Hey Kaci. Are you doing anything tonight?)
“¿Quién es éste?” (Who’s this?)
“Woah, you learned Spanish?” Nick says as he pulls into Kaci’s driveway.
“Es Frankie.” (It’s Frankie.)
“J?”
“Sí,” Frankie says laughing. “Estoy en ciudad y Justin me dio su número vez última que colgamos hacia fuera.” (Yeah. I’m in town and Justin gave me your number last time we hung out.)
“Oh, bien. ¡Recuérdeme golpear su asno con el pie cuando él consigue casero!” (Oh, alright. Remind me to kick his ass when he gets home!)
“¿Usted es tan casero?” (So you're home?)
“Sí, ¿por qué usted pide?” (Yeah, why you ask?)
“¿Usted importa de si vengo encima?” (Do you mind if I come over?)
“¿Puede usted sostener en un segundo, yo consiguió otra llamada?” (Can you hold on a second, I got another call?)
“Seguro, no problema.” (Sure, no problem.)
Kaci puts Frankie on hold.
“It’s Frankie, he wants to come over to the house and chill. Do you mind?”
“Frankie who?”
“Frankie J. He is part of my label now. It would be cool to hang out with him now! Remember, you have me all to yourself tomorrow!”
“Yeah, that’s cool.”
Kaci goes back to talking to Frankie.
“Frankie?”
“Sí mami, estoy aquí.” (Yeah mami, I’m here.)
“¡Bien, usted puede venir encima y colgar hacia fuera! ¿Usted recuerda como ponerse a la casa?” (Alright, you can come over and chill! You remember how to get to the crib?)
"¡Si consigo perdido, le llamaré!” (If I get lost, I'll call you!)
“¡Bien playa! Oh, mella está aquí también, tan nosotros que cuelgan hacia fuera en la casa de la huésped.” (Alright playa! Oh, Nick is over here too, so we chillin in the guest house.)
“Bien fresco. ¿Puedo parquear en la calzada, la derecha?” (Alright cool. I can park in the driveway, right?)
"¡Seguro, mi papá no está aquí, su justo mi mamá y usted sabe que ella no cuida!” (Sure, my dad ain't here, it’s just my mom and you know she don't care!)
“¡Autorización, estoy en la gasolinera que consigue la gasolina, así que le llamaré cuando consigo a su casa y a su mejor atractivo del asno salidos y me consigo!” (Okay, I'm at the gas station getting gas, so I'll call you when I get to your crib and your sexy ass better come out and get me!)
“¡Bien Frankie, le veré cuando usted consigue aquí!” Kaci says laughing and then hangs up. (Alright Frankie, I'll see you when you get here!)
Kaci gets out of Nick’s truck and goes inside her house with Nick.
“Hey mom!”
“What are you doing back so early?” Jill asks.
“This brat wanted to leave,” Kaci says playfully pushing Nick into the couch.
“So where are Jose and the others that went with you?”
“Still there! Jose’s friend Tyler is bringing them back here when they decide to leave. Oh and everyone’s spending the night.”
“Who is everyone and where are they gonna sleep Jess?” her mom asks her.
“There’s two rooms here and the guest house is clean. Angela is sleeping in J’s room, so Tyler can stay here and so can Frankie. Nick, Kaley and Kim can have the guest house, which is where we’re headed off to while we wait for Frankie.”
“Frankie who?”
“FRANKIE!”
“Frankie J?”
“Yes mother!” Kaci says being a smartass, which causes Nick to slap her.
Kaci slaps Nick back and gets a look from her mother.
“We’re gonna go to the guest house now,” Kaci says grabbing Nick’s hand.
Kaci starts walking upstairs.
“I think the guest house is this way,” Nick says pointing outside.
“I need the keys to get in the guest house!”
“Oh alright, make it quick!”
Kaci runs upstairs to get the keys to the guest house from Justin’s room.
“You ready?” Kaci says walking down the stairs.
“Absolutely,” Nick says extending his hand to Kaci.
Kaci takes Nick’s hand and they head out to the guest house.
“I didn’t get to tell you earlier, but I like what you did with your room. It’s very you!”
“Aww, thanks dork!”
“Justin won’t get mad that we’re in here, will he?”
“Justin can kiss my ass! It’s not just his, it’s mine too and I have the keys, so he can’t do anything.”
“What about me, Kaley and Kim sleeping here tonight?”
“If he has a problem with it, him and Angela can give his room to you guys and he can sleep out here instead of his precious room.”
Kaci unlocks the guest house and her and Nick go inside.
“This is where most of the album will be recorded and Justin’s haven,” Kaci says walking in with Nick holding her hand.
“Wow! Very nice!” Nick says shutting the door.
“Do you want anything to drink?”
“What do you have?”
“Well,” Kaci says walking to the kitchen.“There’s J’s Kool-Aid from yesterday when he was out here with the guys, there’s beer, there’s hard liquor, and soda or water.”
“What are you going to have?”
“This,” Kaci says getting a Corona out of the fridge.
“I guess I’ll have one of those too,” Nick says.
Kaci hands Nick her Corona and gets another one out of the fridge for her.
“So, what are we going to do tomorrow?” Kaci asks sitting down on the couch.
“It’s a surprise,” Nick says sitting down at the end of the couch, pulling Kaci next to him so her head rests on his chest.
“Oh fine, be that way!”
“Don’t worry, you won’t be disappointed,” Nick says leaning over Kaci, kissing her forehead.
“You always know how to please Carter!” Kaci says with a smile on her face when her phone rings.
“Is it Frankie?” Nick asks.
“Yeah,” Kaci says answering her phone.“Hey Frankie!”
“¡Hey mami, estoy aquí, traigo ese asno atractivo el suyo al frente de su casa!” (Hey mami, I'm here, bring that sexy ass of yours to the front of your crib!)
“Satisfágame en la puerta lateral por el garage,” Kaci says taking Nick’s hand and getting up. (Meet me at the side gate by the garage)
“¡Bien hágalo rápido antes de que su mamá me coja!” (Alright make it quick before your mom catches me!)
“Estaré allí en un minuto,” Kaci says then hangs up. (I'll be there in a minute)
Kaci grabs the keys to the guest house and leaves with Nick to go get Frankie.
“I’m gonna go get Hayley,” Kaci says to Nick as they’re walking to the gate to get Frankie.
“You still have her?” Nick asks.
“Of course I do! What made you think differently?”
“Oh nothing! I’m sure Aje will be glad to hear you still have her.”
“Keep that to yourself! Nobody needs to know Alex gave me Hayley as a Valentine’s Day gift!”
“Alright, but can I at least tell Aje?”
