Chapter 11

Friday, May 2, 2003

“Hey, Brian,” Cheyenne said walking into Tyke’s and seeing her boss at the bar. Cheyenne had just gotten back from England and wanted to get back to work.

“Hey, Chey,” Brian said. “How was the funeral?”

“A funeral.” She sighed. “It was nice. Devon’s sister did a great job with it.”

“Did you just get back?” She nodded. “If you need a place to stay you can stay upstairs.”

“I already have a place to stay.”

“Oh, with Codie or even Brent?”

“Um, with a Nick Carter; he’s a friend of Brent’s. I met him at Skye and Howie’s wedding.”

“I know who he is. His family owns Carter’s Winery.”

“Really?” He nodded. “He never mentioned it.”

“Well he’s not one of those guys that like to rub it in everyone’s faces.” She nodded. “Did you ever have their Strawberry wine?” She shook her head. “Ya should, because it’s the best. If ya hang on a second I’ll get ya some.” Cheyenne nodded.

“Not to be conceited, but he’s right,” Nickolas said and Cheyenne looked. “Hey.”

“Hey,” Cheyenne said and he grinned.

“The delivery trucks outback,” Nickolas said. “Ya can’t say that I don’t do anything besides play music and art.”

“I’ll remember that,” Brian said smiling. “I heard you two already met.”

“Yeah,” Nickolas said.

“And you didn’t share the family secret?” Brian said. “Why not?”

“I didn’t think it was important,” Nickolas replied.

“It’s not,” Cheyenne assured him.

“So what brings you by, Chey?” Brian asked.

“I want to come back to work as soon as possible,” Cheyenne answered.

“Just take the rest of the week off,” Brian stated. “I’ve been working the bar with Chris and we have enough waitresses.” She sighed and Nickolas sat next to her. “You just lost a lot and I don’t want you over doing it.”

“Brian, please,” Cheyenne said. <

“You can come back Monday.”

“That’s like four days away.”

“And it’ll give you time to catch up on your sleep.” She glared at him. “I’m going to check the shipment.”

“No trust?” Nickolas asked and Brian smiled.

“No harassing my employees,” Brian said walking away and Nickolas looked at Cheyenne.

“How are you feeling?” Nickolas asked and she shrugged.

“It’s been, like, nine days and I still can’t believe everything’s gone,” Cheyenne stated.

“It’ll take time.” She shook her head and sighed. “It’ll get better I promise.” She looked at him.

“I know it’s only been a week or so, but I missed you in England. I wished you were there with me.” He grinned.

“I missed you too.” She hugged him. “I wished I could’ve been with you.” She tightened her hold. “But at least you had Brent and your friend Codie.” She looked at him. “What?”

“Brent…” She sighed. “He was amazing in England, ya know, it was almost like we never broke up.” He grinned. “There was almost a couple moments there where we almost got back together.”

“Oh.”

“I loved being with Brent and I loved what we had when we were together. There was almost times that I hoped we would get back together, but that all changed when I met you.” He just looked at her. “I know now that ship has sailed. My ship’s sailing with you right now.”

“Did you tell him that?”

“No; I just told him that I was interested in someone else at the moment. But Brent’s a smart boy so he’ll most likely figure out who.” Nickolas grinned.

“Yeah.” They looked at each other. “It won’t matter, because Brent won’t say anything.” She shook her head and looked around before kissing him. He quickly kissed her in return before she could pull away. “That was daring.”

“Yes it was, but worth it.” He smiled and hugged her.

“Maybe we can get together tonight…after hours.”

“Maybe.” He smiled.

“Did Brent come home with you?”

“Yeah; he dropped me off here and then went home.” Nickolas nodded. “Why?”

“Well Brian said people have been asking for the band and he wants to book them. Brent’s in charge of all that shit so.” She nodded and just looked at him. “What?” She shook her head. “Then why are you just staring at me? Do I have something growing out of my nose?” She shook her head again and sighed. “Are you feeling ok?” She nodded. “If you say so. I ain’t going to argue.” She smiled. “Now what?” She shook her head again and looked around. She looked at Nickolas again and kissed him. He kissed her in return and slipped his tongue in her mouth. She went to pull away, but he wouldn’t leave her. She put her arms around him just to be interrupted.

“Hey, Nick, there’s only nine cases,” Brian said and Nickolas and Cheyenne quickly pulled apart. “And I’ll pretend I didn’t see that.” They looked at him. “Where’s the other case?”

“I didn’t load the truck,” Nickolas replied. “I just brought it up.”

“You’re supposed to make sure everything’s there,” Brian pointed out.

“I’ll call Aaron and tell him to bring a case up when he comes up for the truck,” Nickolas said. “No one told me what goes with the job. They just asked if I could bring it up and I decided to be a nice guy.” He smiled. “Is that everything?”

“Yeah,” Brian said. “Great,” Nickolas said looking at Cheyenne. “Do you need a ride?”

“Yeah,” Cheyenne said.

“I ordered ya some new uniforms,” Brian said and Cheyenne nodded. “I’ll let ya know when they’re here.”

“Ok,” Cheyenne said.

“Ya ready?” Nickolas asked and Cheyenne nodded.

“She can’t leave yet without tasting this wine,” Brian stated getting a glass and opening the wine bottle. He poured Cheyenne some and handed it to her. “You’ll love it.”

“I hope so,” Cheyenne said picking up the glass and taking a sip. She smiled and took another sip. “Mmm, you’re right, this is good.”

“Told ya so,” Brian said.

Cheyenne looked at Nickolas and asked, “Do you have this at your place?”

“Yeah,” Nickolas said, as Cheyenne drank down the wine.

“Great,” Cheyenne said.

“More?” Brian asked.

“No,” Cheyenne said shaking her head. “We should go though. I want to take a nap and shower.” She and Nickolas got up.

“You do know he’s married, right?” Brian questioned and Cheyenne nodded. “Just wondering. Your secret’s safe with me.” They just nodded and walked out.

Chapter 12

Cheyenne sat on top of the safe and tried prying it open with a crowbar. Nickolas sat at his desk doing his college work and glanced at Cheyenne every few minutes. Whenever he didn’t hear her he’d look up and find her just staring at the floor; with tears going down her cheeks.

After a few minutes of silence, Cheyenne practically yelled, “You stupid piece of fucking shit!” Nickolas looked at her, as she started beating the safe with the crowbar. “Open you cocksucker! Son of a bitch! Ugh!” She continued beating the safe and Nickolas walked over to her. She went to swing at it again and Nickolas stopped her. “What?”

“Beating it ain’t going to get it open any faster,” Nickolas stated and she just looked at him. “Why don’t ya take a break and get something to eat.” She sighed and dropped the crowbar to her side.

“I guess I could.”

“Thank you.” He walked back over to his desk and Cheyenne looked at the safe before swinging at it again.

“Ugh! Open you bastard!”

“Cheyenne!” She stopped and looked at Nickolas. “Give me the crowbar.” She just looked at him and he walked back over to her. He took the crowbar from her, as the door opened. They both looked and saw Keera.

“Oh, Cheyenne, you’re back,” Keera said with no enthusiasm.

“What do want Keera?” Nickolas asked.

“Just wondering what you want for dinner,” Keera replied.

“I don’t care,” Nickolas said.

“What about you, Cheyenne?” Keera asked.

“Doesn’t matter,” Cheyenne replied.

“So it’s my choice,” Keera said. “Again.” She walked from the study and Nickolas and Cheyenne looked at each other.

“Even when Bree was pregnant,” Cheyenne began, “she wasn’t as bitchy as Keera is.”

“Keera’s just pissed because you’re here,” Nickolas stated. “She’ll get over it though.”

“When I’m gone.”

“And I hope it’s not for awhile.” She grinned and he gave her a quick peck. He walked over and closed the door then locked it. She just looked at him and he walked over to her. He put his hands on her sides and pulled her against him. She continued looking at him and he kissed her.

“Mmm.” She wrapped her arms around his neck and he lifted her up so she could wrap her legs around him. He walked over to the sofa and sat down, as they continued kissing. Cheyenne moved down to his neck and as she started kissing it, she could feel Nickolas get harder under her.

“God don’t stop, Baby.” She grabbed the bottom of his shirt and pushed it up. He got the hint and lifted his arms up so she could take it off. She smiled and started kissing his chest. He put his hands in her hair, as she made a trail with her tongue up to his mouth. He captured her mouth in a kiss and laid her back on the sofa just as their was a knock on the door. “Damn it.” Cheyenne sighed. “What?”

“I have to go to my parents,” Keera said. “So dinner’s up to you.”

“Alright,” Nickolas said.

“I’ll be back later.”

“Alright.” He waited for a response, but got none and put his attention back on Cheyenne. “Dinner can wait, because I’m having desert first.”

“Me too.” He smirked and kissed her. He put her arms above her head and took her shirt off. He threw it to the floor, as she put her legs around his waist. “I want to feel you, Nicky.”

“And you will, Baby, I promise.” He kissed her and then made a trail of kisses down to her waist. He undid her shorts and pushed them off her and to the floor. He kissed her inner thighs and she jumped.

“Oh God, Nicky.” He did it again and she moaned. “I never thought a man could make me feel this way.”

“Is this a good thing?”

“It’s a great thing.” She smiled and he moved back up, taking her mouth in a kiss. He thrust his tongue deep into her mouth and she tried undoing his pants, but fumbled with the buttons. Nickolas smiled and undid them for her. She smiled in return and went to push his pants off, as there was a knock on the door. “Ugh!”

“Now who the hell is that?” Cheyenne shrugged, as he shook his head and there was another knock. “Just go away.” Cheyenne smiled and kissed him.

“Nick?” came a male’s voice. “Are you home?”

“It’s my brother. He’s probably here for the truck.” Nickolas kissed her and got up. “Don’t go anywhere.” Cheyenne just grinned, as he picked up his shirt. He fixed his pants and walked out. Cheyenne sighed and got redressed herself.

* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * *

Cheyenne laid on her bed and looked out the patio door. She felt really weird around Nickolas earlier. It was as if she was nervous or something. She was nervous come to think of it. The last time she got that nervous was around Brent when she realized she was in love with him. That was the only time. She rolled over and stared at the ceiling a moment then quickly sat up.

“There’s no way in hell. It’s too soon. It’s impossible. It took me almost two years to realize it with Brent.” She got off the bed and paced back and forth. “How did I allow this to happen? He’s a married man for crying out loud. I don’t let things like this happen when it involves married men. It’s not in my nature.” She stopped pacing and smiled. “But he’s great in bed. He’s also so sweet and caring…no! No! No! He’s married so forget it, Cheyenne. It’s not going to happen.” She started pacing again and heard laughter. She walked from her room, as she heard the laughter again. She walked over to the banister and looked down to the foyer to see Nickolas and his brother goofing off. She knelt down and rested her forehead against the banister. She watched the two brothers and smiled, as tears went down her cheeks. She always wanted a brother or sister of her own, but never got one. She got close once, but it wasn’t meant to be.

“You’re going to get it ya little shit,” Nickolas said, as the doorbell rang. Cheyenne laughed and Nickolas opened the door. Cheyenne just watched them and Aaron looked up at her.

“Hey,” Aaron said smiling and Cheyenne just gave a little wave. “Nick, who’s the babe?” Nickolas looked up at Cheyenne and smiled.

“That’s Cheyenne,” Nickolas replied handing money to the pizza guy. “Keep the change.” The pizza guy nodded and Nickolas closed the door.

“She’s banging,” Aaron said and Nickolas just laughed at him.

“Do you want to join us for pizza?” Nickolas asked.

“I’m not that hungry,” Cheyenne lied.

“Liar,” Nickolas said handing the pizza to Aaron. “Take that to the kitchen.” Aaron just smiled and walked away. Nickolas looked at Cheyenne and then went up the stairs. Cheyenne watched him make his way towards her and she sat on the floor. “So.”

“So.”

“Is there something wrong?”

“Why would ya think that?” He sat next to her.

“What’s with the tears?” She grinned and dried her eyes. “I know ya just lost your house and Devon, but I think there’s more behind those tears.”

“Yeah.”

“Do ya want to talk about it?”

“It’s nothing really.”

“Don’t tell me that, because I know otherwise.”

“And how so? We've only known each other for, like, two weeks. I highly doubt that’s long enough to know what’s going on with each other.”

“I guess ya have a point.”

“I do.”

“Ok.” He smiled. “But do ya want to talk about those tears?” She sighed and looked at him.

“Hey, guys, are you coming?” Aaron yelled up to them.

“We’ll be right there,” Nickolas said looking at Cheyenne. “Let’s go eat some pizza and hang with Aaron and maybe you’ll feel better. What do ya say?” She grinned. “C’mon.” He held out his hand and she looked at it. He smiled and she put her hand in his. He stood up and pulled her to her feet. “Some food will do ya good.” She nodded. “And then maybe we can finish what we started earlier.” She grinned and he kissed her. She put her arms around him and hugged him. He hugged her in return and lifted her off her feet. She kissed his cheek and they looked at each other.

“You’ve been so great to me and I thank you.”

“And you’re welcome.” She smiled and kissed him. “C’mon, let’s go meet Aaron.” He didn’t leave her walk and carried her downstairs. He put her on her feet and they walked to the kitchen. “Hey, Aaron, I want you to meet Cheyenne Corinthos. Chey, this is my little brother, Aaron.”

“Hi,” Cheyenne said and Aaron smiled.

“The pleasure is all mine,” Aaron said kissing her hand.

“Aaron thinks he is a ladies man so watch yourself,” Nickolas stated.

“I’ll keep that in mind,” Cheyenne said sitting on the counter and Nickolas and Aaron looked at each other. “But he takes after his brother.” She smiled and Aaron laughed while Nickolas shook his head.

“So, Cheyenne,” Aaron began getting a slice of pizza, “why are you staying here?”

“Um, well, there was a fire at my house and Nick was generous and offered me a place to stay,” Cheyenne replied.

“How’d you meet Nick?” Aaron asked.

“At a mutual friend’s wedding,” Nickolas replied handing Cheyenne a plate with pizza.

“Thank you,” Cheyenne said.

“You’re welcome,” Nickolas said, as him and Aaron sat at the table.

“How long have you two known each other?” Aaron questioned.

“About two weeks,” Cheyenne answered.

“She’s Brent’s ex-fiancée,” Nickolas pointed out. “So I had to be a good friend and let her stay.”

“Plus Brent doesn’t have the room,” Cheyenne added.

“But don’t you have the money to get a place?” Aaron asked. “Or even your own family?”

“Quit being nosy,” Nickolas said.

“I’m just staying until the whole insurance is settled,” Cheyenne stated and Nickolas looked at her. “I don’t want to be a bother to a pregnant Keera.”

“She afraid you’re going to steal Nick?” Aaron wanted to know.

“Something like that,” Cheyenne said.

“Just because we’re married,” Nickolas started, “doesn’t mean I was and am hers to steal.”

“He has a point,” Cheyenne said. “It’s only because of the baby that they’re married.”

“Right,” Aaron said and Cheyenne and Nickolas looked at each other. “Do you have a boyfriend?”

“Um…” Cheyenne began, “I guess you can say I’m kind of seeing someone.”

“Anything serious?” Nickolas looked at her.

“Uh…not that much I guess.”

“Ya bang him yet?”

“Aaron!” Nickolas said, as they all looked at each other. “That’s a little personal.”

“Um…I’m still a virgin,” Cheyenne lied and looked at Nickolas.

“Someone as sexy as you I highly doubt it,” Aaron said.

“Well I am,” Cheyenne said. “Ask Brent if ya must.” She smiled and a phone rang.

“That’s my cell,” Aaron said getting it out and another phone rang.

“I’ll get that,” Nickolas said getting up. Cheyenne watched him, as he took the phone from its holder. That nervous feeling was still there and she couldn’t shake it. Maybe in a way she didn’t want it to go away. She never felt this way about anyone before and it was kind of great. She smiled and looked back at Nickolas, as he hung up the phone. Nickolas looked at her and smiled.

“Well I have to go,” Aaron said interrupting their stares. “Letty’s having a crisis and she needs me.”

“Alright,” Nickolas said.

“It was nice meeting you, Cheyenne,” Aaron said.

“You too,” Cheyenne said.

“See ya’s later,” Aaron said walking out.

“I’ll walk him out and be right back,” Nickolas said walking out.

“Ok,” Cheyenne said sighing. She sat there eating her pizza a moment then got up and walked to the refrigerator. She opened it up and stood there looking in. She got a soda just as hands found there way around her waist and lips found her neck.

“It looks like we can start desert earlier,” Nickolas said and she smiled while opening her soda. “And continue all night.”

“What about Keera?” She took a sip of her soda, as Nickolas turned her around. “She’ll be coming home sometime.”

“Not until tomorrow. That was her on the phone and she’s spending the night at her parents.”

“And that’s a good thing right?”

“Of course.” He smiled and kissed her. “There’s a Jacuzzi calling for us.”

“But I want to finish eating first.” She pushed him away and sat at the table. He just looked at her and she smiled while looking at him.

Chapter 13

“So,” Cheyenne said, as her and Nickolas sat in the Jacuzzi.

“So,” Nickolas said. “This is a first.” “Not really.” She looked at him and he kissed her.

“So you did this before.”

“Maybe once or twice.” He smiled and she shook her head. “It was nothing like this though.”

“And how was it?” She turned and looked at him.

“Um, well…” She straddled him and kissed his neck. “It was…it was…hot.” She started nibbling on his ear and put her one hand between them.

“How hot was it?” She took him in her hand and squeezed.

“Oh good God.”

“How hot was it…Nicky?” She put her tongue in his ear and squeezed him harder.

“Very hot.” She licked his neck and he just grew harder in her hand. “Oh, Baby Girl, you have no idea what you’re doing to me.”

“I think I have a general idea.” She shoved her tongue deep into his mouth. He took both her breasts in his hands and she moaned into his mouth.

“We could go to the bed.” She shook her head.

“We already did the whole bed thing.”

“So you’re going to be one of those sex rebels, huh? Do it wherever.” She shrugged. “Fine with me.” He kissed her neck and caressed her breasts.

“I always had this dream that on my wedding night I’d get to…” Nickolas bite her neck. “Ooh!” He chuckled and worked his way down.

“You were saying.”

“It’s not that important anymore.”

“Sure it is, because I want to know. So what is your wedding dream?” She smiled.

“To make love on a bed of roses.”

“Sounds like a nice dream.”

“Ever since I heard that song by Bon Jovi it’s been my dream. I want my wedding night to be romantic.”

“Yeah.”

“Yeah.”

“That’s great, but let’s concentrate on now.” The phone rang. “And ignore that irritating ring.”

“I can do that.”

“Good.” He kissed her and the phone continued ringing.

“Did I mention that the candles are a nice touch?”

“Do you want to ruin this moment? Is that why you’re talking? I don’t want talking, I want moaning.”

“Then moaning it is.”

“Good.” They kissed and the phone started ringing again. “Just ignore it.”

“Ok.” They continued kissing and the phone continued ringing. They ignored it a couple minutes the best they could. Cheyenne pulled from the kiss and Nickolas looked at her.

“What?”

“It must be important.” He sighed and she moved away from him.

“It’s probably just Keera checking to see if I’m doing anything with our sexy houseguest.” He moved over to her and kissed her.

“And there could be an emergency.”

“Fine.” He got out of the Jacuzzi and grabbed a towel. Cheyenne watched him put it around his waist, as he walked out of the bathroom. She sat there a moment then got out of it. She grabbed a towel and walked from the bathroom. She wrapped the towel around her and walked over to the bed, as Nickolas looked at her and smiled. He took her hand and pulled her over to him. “This will only take a minute.” She nodded and laid on the bed behind him. “Yeah, ma.” He turned and looked at Cheyenne. “I guess he was going to Letty’s…I don’t know…well she called.” He rolled his eyes and Cheyenne smiled. “Ok I will…I will…if he calls or stops by I’ll tell him to call ya…ok…bye.” He sighed and hung up the phone. “Mom can’t find her baby boy and it’s always up to me to find him.” He leaned down and buried his face in her neck. She kissed the top of his head and he got on top of her. He kissed her and laid his head on her chest. “My family can be a pain in the ass.” She grinned and took her fingers through his wet hair.

“Do you have a big family?”

“There are eight of us.”

“Really?”

“Yeah; Bob, Jane, Ginger, me, BJ, Leslie, Angel, and Aaron.”

“Six kids.”

“Mmmhmm.”

“What’s it like having a big family?”

“Interesting. We keep each other on our toes.”

“Are ya close?”

“Yeah.”

“I bet it’s nice.”

“It is.” He looked at her and smiled. “What about you? Do you have any brothers or sisters? She just looked at him and sighed. “Don’t you have any?” She shook her head. “I always wondered what it would be like to be an only child.”

“It’s lonely.”

“Didn’t your parents want anymore?”

“Yeah; but things happened to prevent it.”

“I’m sorry.”

“Don’t worry about it.”

“When did your parents die?” She sighed.

“I don’t want to talk about it right now.”

“Ok; we don’t have to.”

“Thank you.” He smiled and kissed her hand. “Why does it have to be this way?”

“What way?” He moved up her body and kissed her.

“You being married and us not being able to be public.”

“It’s not going to last forever. I promise.” She grinned and he kissed her.
