~*Chapter 15*~
Howie plopped down on the couch next to Brian."What's up with Kev?He came
in about 4:30 this morning and has been in our room ever since," he
remarked.The guys were all hanging out in Nick and Brian's hotel room later
the next day,all except Kevin,who wouldn't come out of the room he shared
with Howie and AJ.
Brian shrugged."Knowing my cousin,it's probably problems with Jane
again.They haven't been getting along too well lately,as you already know,"
he said.
Just then,the door opened and Kevin walked in.He saw them all sitting
around and gave a small smile."Can I join you?," he asked,as he went over and
sat on the floor.
"Signs of life at last," AJ cracked,and Kevin laughed along with them,as
he raked his fingers through his hair.
Brian snapped open a can of soda and took a drink before saying,"Where's
Jane?She didn't go out with the others."
Kevin was quiet before answering."She left.She broke up with me last
night,saying we wanted different things out of life."
Nick's mouth fell open."Oh man.No wonder you're so bummed," he
commented,as he reached over and grabbed a handful of corn chips off the
table.
Howie shook his head."She didn't explain to you exactly what she meant by
wanting different things out of life?."
Kevin shook his head."She said she couldn't go into it,and left," he told
them.
Brian disappeared into the bedroom and reappeared a moment later with a
basketball."I say we go shoot some hoops.That'll cheer you up," he said.
Kevin jumped up and grabbed the ball from him."You're on,cousin,"he
tossed at him.

A few days later Nick and Blane were taking a walk through a park just
outside Portland.After stopping to sign some autographs,they continued to
stroll down the tree-lined path.
"I bet you're glad you don't have any shows for a few days,"she said.
He nodded as he pulled her to a bench and they sat down."Yeah.We both
need a break," he said.
She leaned over and kissed his neck."I hope we get to spend alot of time
together," she whispered in his ear."Especially at night."
Nick grinned and kissed her gently on the mouth."I'd like that alot," he
murmered.
She placed her hand on his upper leg and gently began to rub,and he
laughed."Blane,you're terrible," he told her,and stood up.
She wrapped her arms around his waist and kissed his neck again."That's
because you're so damn sexy and irresistable," she murmered in his ear.
He was just about to pull her into his arms when he happened to glance up
and saw a familiar face a few feet away.He froze;the person looked up and saw
him looking at her.Her mouth formed a smile,then she glanced away again.His
heart began to pound nervously.
Blane ran her fingers through his hair."What's wrong?," she
asked,following his gaze.
He gulped and tried to open his mouth,but no sound came out.After a
moment,he cleared his throat,and pointed to the girl sitting on the bench.
"That girl over there...," he said,his voice shaking a little.
Blane nodded."Yeah,I see her.Who is she?," she asked.
Nick turned to her."It's Mandy," he said.
