~*Chapter 17*~
Erica and AJ were spending a quiet evening alone.They were in his hotel
room;he had asked Kevin and Howie to stay in Brian and Nick's room for the
night.He and Erica had hardly spent any time together and he really missed
her.
They went into the bedroom and he shut and locked the door behind
them.Candles flickered all around the room,and soft romantic music played in
the background.When Erica noticed everything,she put her hand to her mouth.
"AJ,did you do all this?," she asked.
He walked over to her and wrapped her in his arms."I sure did.Tonight
will probably be our last time together for awhile,so I thought I'd make it
something we'd both remember," he told her.He leaned over and kissed her
neck,and she smiled.
"I like that idea," she replied,as she ran her fingers through his hair.A
moment later,their lips met,and she reached up and pulled off his shirt,then
ran her hands over his chest."Looking good,baby."
They fell onto the bed,and she reached down and took off his pants.She
could feel him begging for her in every wayand he reached down and removed
her underwear.A few seconds later,she felt him inside her,and she wrapped her
legs around him as their lovemaking grew more intense.
After a few hours,they lay in each other's arms,their bodies wet with
sweat.
She smiled up at him."You're absolutely incredible," she breathed,as he
leaned down and kissed her.
A moment later she felt him slide something onto her finger,and she
lifted her hand and gasped.On her left hand he had slid on a beautiful 28
carat ring.It sparkled on her finger."What's this?," she asked softly.
He lifted her hand and kissed it."I've been doing alot of thinking
lately;you know,about us.And I came to the realization that I love you with
all my heart and I never want us to be apart." He took a deep breath and
continued."Erica,will you marry me? You'd make me the happiest man in the
world if you said yes." He gazed at her,waiting for her to answer.
She began to cry softly."Oh AJ.Yes,I'll marry you.I love you so much,"
she gushed,throwing her arms around him.
He smiled and pushed her back on the bed,and made such amazing love to
her she couldn't get enough.

Howie was just getting ready to leave Nick's hotel room the next morning
when the phone rang.
"Hi Sweet D," Kari's voice announced when he answered.
Howie broke into a huge grin."Hey hon.How are things going with you?," he
asked,sitting down on a nearby chair.
She was quiet."I miss you like crazy,Howie.I think of you every minute of
the day,and I cry myself to sleep at night because you're not there to hold
me," she replied.A minute later she laughed."I shouldn't have told you that."
He wrapped the phone cord around his finger."It's ok.I miss you too.I
can't wait to see you again," he said."We got a week off coming up soon,and
you can fly out here and hang with us."
She smiled."I can't wait," she told him.They talked awhile longer,then
hung up.
Howie sat staring at the phone a moment,then went to join the others at
the soundcheck.
