she sat
on the stone bridge
bare ivory feet
swinging over the edge
casting reflections
on the water below
she sat
eating peaches
wind rustling leaves
blowing back her hair
fishies swimming
darting
below her feet
she looks
and smiles
her face
transposed
over the darting fishies

fishies
doing fishy things
contorted strangely
by her grinning face
(wind picks up
leaves invade the water
like an army of ballerinas
the fishies scatter)
bare ivory feet
swinging over the edge
how could the sun
go out?
but it does.
half-eaten peach
floating in the water
blocking the reflection of a
-frown-
because something has arrived
and it isn't fishies

~

purple blossoms
oh god
everything is purple blossoms
dancing
courting eachother in swirling jerking movements
in the sky
the girl
with bare ivory feet
cutoff jeans
strange smile
is gone
her peach is floating
in the river
why?
i don't understand
why
at the end of the day
she gets inside of me
like a snail into an
-empty-
shell
and i sit in the corner
covering myself with
blankets
trying to keep her in
when push comes to
shove
comes to kick comes to
scream
to lying collapsed in the corner
even my own life
has gone on without me
(sometimes i forget
to be deep)
maybe i need to hug it
offer it some tea
guess i just can't handle
change
