Chapter
Nine
1 Week Later
Today was my day off and by all means I was going to
enjoy it. Gabby had stayed home from her daycare and she was bouncing off
the walls. Asking for juice and then spilling it all over the white carpet.
I told Trey we should've gotten the maroon carpet but noooooo, "White is
ok. It's not gonna get stained."
Just then the doorbell rang.
"I get it!" Gabby yelled as she ran off towards the
front door.
"Gabby, get away from the door. I mean it! Don't touch
it. No more teletubbies!"
With that she immediately stepped away from the
door.
I picked her up and opened the door. I was a little
startled by who was at the door.
"Hey AJ," I said. 'What the hell is he doing
here???'
"Hi AJ," Gabby said.
"Well hi..."
"Gabby," I said.
"Gabby," he said. "Gabby you have beautiful eyes."
"Thank you," she said bashfully.
"Come in," I said. "Would you like anything to
drink?"
"Uhh yeah just water please."
I headed to the kitchen praying to God that he wouldn't
look at her eyes anymore.
AJ was intrigued by Gabby's eyes. They looked so familiar,
but this was the second time he had ever seen her. 'MY EYES!' he thought.
'Her eyes are exactly like mine! She couldn't be mine could she? Sammy got
the abortion. But she did leave me before she could show any signs. Oh man!
This is crazy!'
"Hey Sammy," AJ called, "how old is Gabby?"
"Umm she's a little under one and a half years old."
I replied. "Why do you ask?" 'Oh God! He can't know! He just can't know!'
I thought.
"Just wondering," he replied. AJ did the math. 'If
Sammy was pregnant two years ago, which is 24 months, and she'd have to be
pregnant for 9 months and 24 minus 9 is 15 and Gabby is a little under one
and one half! Oh my God!'
"Oh my God," he whispered. "I'm a father."
