Chapter Ten
AJ held his head in his hands. 'It's not true! Her
father is Trey!' one side argued. 'Look at the eyes AJ,' another side argued.
'You have the same exact ones! You did the math! You're a father! Sammy lied
to you!'
I came back with his water. "Here you go," I said as
she held out the water to him.
He looked up at me. "Why didn't you tell me," he said
just above a whisper. He was getting chocked up just thinking about it.
"Tell you what?" I said. 'Oh God! Please don't let
him know! My life was perfect.'
"That I'm Gabby's father," he said as tears began to
slip down his cheeks.
"What? That's not true! Who the hell told you
that?"
He looked at me again and instantly knew I was lying.
He always knew when I was lying.
"Dont lie to me! I know I'm her father! Why didn't
you tell me?"
"Because!" I yelled. "You didn't give a fuck then why
would you give a fuck now?!"
"Dammit I wasn't ready! I wasn't ready to be a father!
I was only 19!"
"You never cared for me! I was just your little girlfriend
that you 'loved'! But when I got pregnant you just threw me away! I turned
to the only person who really cared for me!"
"Everything I said to you was and is true! I do love
you! I love you more than you could ever imagine! When you left I couldn't
even think straight!"
"Oh please! Don't even pull that shit! Nick told me
the truth! Not even one month after I left you were already dating!"
"Wait! Hold on one fucking second! YOU TOLD NICK?!"
AJ was just about ready to explode.
"YES I TOLD NICK! He was the only one who REALLY
cared!"
AJ got off the couch and headed to the door. "I gotta
go," he said with rage burning in his eyes.
"Leave him alone!" I screamed. "Don't hurt him! He
didn't do anything to you!"
He just kept on walking.
"Aren't you gonna say goodbye to your daughter?!" I
screeched.
"I'll be back," was all he said before climbing into
his Expedition and speeding off.
I slammed the door and sank down to the floor. For
the first time in months, I broke down and cried.
