Your Name__________________________________

1. Miss Hathaway gives Miss Buckles credit for the work on the Clampett file when it is presented to Mr. Drysdale. We often fail to give credit to those in our lives who have helped make us into the people we are toady. Compose a list of at least ten or more people who deserve credit in forming you as a person. Include specifics on how they contributed to your life. Take time as a part of your values to write two of them a letter of thanks.

2. Jed's family goes through a variety of actions to protect him from a potentially harmful relationship. Have you ever protected or been protected in a similar situation? Explain your thoughts and feelings on the subject.

3. Having money is not always a positive. Gloria Buckles expresses love for Jed with sole purpose of getting his money. The same is done to people with fame. The are loved for everything but who they really are. Apply this thinking to high school life. Have you ever liked, loved, dated someone because of his/her popularity, leadership, etc. What was the problem with the relations over the long run. PLease do not name any names!

4. Using either a dictionary or your parents define what a "golddigger" and a "Jezzebel" are and tell where we get the term Jezzebel from. Do we place as much emphasis on these two terms today as they did back in the 1960's? Why?

5. Take the following quotes from this episode and tell what they mean to you. Are they outdated or do we still use them? (You might want to re-watch the video to see how they're used.)

"No fool like an old fool."

"Make a hill out of a haystack."

"Years alone do not turn a boy into a man."

"Knock on wood."

"A job worth doing is worth doing right."

"Beauty is only skin deep."

"An old fox is trap shy when the bait goes chasing him."
